I will start the off by saying that PSA is a stand up company, and did eventually make things right. Now on to my story....

I bought one of the PTac kits not knowing that they were not made by or for PSA. I put the assembled upper on my lower and headed to the range. I was on my 2nd mag when the hand guard slid forward and came off the barrel nut. This was a MI Gen II SS 12". I have the 15" on my SPR. I looked at it and decided I would examine it when I got home. I found that the pinch bolts were not tightened down correctly.

I called PSA and was told I could send it back and get a refund or a gift card. I chose to just tighten it and try again, that is when the bolt would not release from the barrel. I was thinking maybe the casing had swollen and got stuck, so I packed it up and went home to see what happened... The index pin in the barrel was broken, as I could rotate the barrel by hand about a 1/4 turn and back.

I called PSA again and talked to Travis, this time and he gave me the same options. I decided to take the gift card and use it to purchase a real PSA (FN) upper and BCG. They were sold out by the time I got to their website. Travis then told me that they had a blemished PSA upper with the MI 12" already on it and asked if I was willing to accept that. I figured I would give it a go, since I didn't want to wait and have to try and get one when they became available again.

I did receive it, and if there are any blemishes I can't seem to find any. I will post up once I get out again to shoot it and some pics when I get the rest of my additions in.

Thanks again PSA and to Travis for being patient and understanding for a product that isn't even your own.

I had the same thing happen with my MI SS12G2 handguard. I bought the complete rifle from PSA in December 2012. I had only about 500 rounds through it and the handguard just slid off while I was shooting at the range. Quite surprising to say the least . I just contacted MI, and they gave me specific instructions on how to install it properly.

The barrel extension coming loose has nothing to do with the hand-guard/rail or the index pin. That is the fault of whoever assembled the barrel and extension.

PSA is the only company that sells PTac. I'm sorry, how is that NOT made by of for PSA?

I wasn't aware of that either. I was going by what I was told. Either way they couldn't or wouldn't tell me the manufacturer. I'm not worried about it,  as I won't be buying anything else with that branding.

I'm well aware they have no relation to each other, all I was trying to get across is that I had multiple issues. Thanks.
