What? You would have built some nice rifles for a great price and put up with a bunch of whiny assholes while doing so? |

What? You would have built some nice rifles for a great price and put up with a bunch of whiny assholes while doing so? No. I would have built up a reputation as a solid company than had excellent customer service and unmatched prices on gear that most folks would be very proud to own and delivered, accurate sales in the time frame that was promised..... Then, when the going got tough, I would jack up my prices a bit (no problem there, supply and demand, and all that jazz), forget to install gas tubes in some uppers, hire some folks from Goodwill to box and ship the products, then crawfish when called on it. Then I would start testing every upper that went out, but start screwing up the LPKs, leaving various parts out of them. Then I would hire more workers from Goodwill to supervise the Goodwill workers that were continually screwing up the orders. Then I would find some homeless folks living under a bridge, offer them ONE hot and a spot in the floor, give them a Title of "Customer Service Czar" and a dollar a day to answer the phone and lie to the folks that had already sent me their hard earned money that called to inquire about shipping times a couple months after I had their money. Piss on those guys, I already have their money, right? The best of the homeless liars would be promoted to "Omniscient, Omnipotent, Infallible Customer Service God." Those guys are the best of the best! They'll be getting two MREs to share between three of them per day, and get to hot bunk in a musty USGI cot between shifts. I'd give them Carte Blanche to tell the peons who already gave me my money, "Don't worry, Sir! I'm from the internet, and I'm here to help you! Your business is so important to us, please stay on the line while I go pick the parts off the shelf myself." And the absolute best thing about it is that I would DEMAND that the "Omniscient, Omnipotent, Infallible Customer Service Gods" tell Loyal Customers that have been shorted that they had their missing parts in their hands, and that the parts would be shipping within 24 hours. So, in other words, if I procured the www.palmettostatearmory.com url, I'd do pretty much exactly what Jamin has done with it. What would you do differently? Yes, I cut and pasted this into a Word file before posting it. |

while i disagree with some of what you said there golf, it is quite funny in a tounge in cheek way. I especially like your signature :P Now just to figure out how to become a tennessee squire myself... Thank you for the reply. I have some pointed questions for you. 1. What, exactly, do you disagree with? I posted my version of the truth, let's hear yours. 2. What do you find funny? Don't worry, I'm not related to Joe Pesci...
3. Have you ever ordered from PSA? 4. Did they ship you exactly what you ordered? 5. Did they ship it within 15 working days? 6. Why are you defending them? Just so you know, I've ordered at least 10 times from them. When they were a young, upcoming business, they were Top Fucking Notch! In the last few months, I think their theme song has turned to "Row, row your boat.... Quickly off a cliff" Sad to see them go down like this. |

People forgeting to renew websites happens all the time. Most times you get a 24 hour grace period before someone can "jump" on your address then it becomes free game
Hopefully they'll get it sorted out real quick before a anti-gun group finds out and hijacks their current web address |

I have some pointed questions for you.shoot. I'll try to answer any the best that i can. 1. What, exactly, do you disagree with? I posted my version of the truth, let's hear yours. i disagree with Pretty much most of this because the tone seems that they are doing it on purpose.... even though i got a lot of humor from these lines : Then I would start testing every upper that went out, but start screwing up the LPKs, leaving various parts out of them. And the absolute best thing about it is that I would DEMAND that the "Omniscient, Omnipotent, Infallible Customer Service Gods" tell Loyal Customers that have been shorted that they had their missing parts in their hands, and that the parts would be shipping within 24 hours. So, in other words, if I procured the www.palmettostatearmory.com url, I'd do pretty much exactly what Jamin has done with it. as for what i'd do differently its hard to say as i dont know all the ins and outs of their operation. I would have perhaps slowed down on the growth, and emphasized quality control on the picking and matching the order. I'd institute a two person sign off sheet on each order sheet in each box, (basically a check and double check) before the box was filled with packing material and sealed. I'd also have perhaps gotten with UPS or another logistics company, and maybe even asked local distributors like amazon, or Ellett brothers how they do things in general to ensure customers get their orders picked, packed, checked, sealed and shipped in a timely manner. Having worked for UPS i know some stuff about the basic shipping functions of the Worldship System, and how they could do this both on a small scale and a large scale. As for fixing the F ups that they do have, which i've seen them do sometimes, when a customer gets the wrong part, ship them the right part, in a box, with a return label, as well as some free swag.. stickers hats and t'shirts are cheap and go a long way to helping folks who have been slighted. I would also OVERNIGHT these corrections complete with UPS tracking to these customers as well. I sure as hell wouldnt have put up a madness upper deal that "SHIPPED IMMEDIATELY" when they were quoting 30 days to ship uppers already ordered... that was just stupid. I'd hire a DEDICATED single person, unless more are needed as ARFCOM reps / email reps, etc. and have a setup where when a problem is addressed that person then gives it to the quality control team, they then call within 10 minutes of recieving that order and work out what needed to be fixed with the customer. If the customer does not answer, i'd leave a voicemail, and then have that rep email them, and then put it in the call again tomorrow box on that reps desk. (so yes obviously the call qc dept would have to be larger than one person) Fact is when you PM them here you get a few folks who answer, and their tones and answers are VASTLY different from one another. to the point of them being total opposite answers. Yes I've experienced this myself. I could go on and on, as we all know that shit is broke and needs fixed, but i doubt that it will change anything. the folks i'd hire for shipping as well would make 12-13 to start, because lets face it, you arent gonna get anyone who gives a shit at 9.00 an hour that is practically minimum wage. even when i worked at ups they paid the slingers 13 to start iirc.. I dont think Jamin's intent is to see them go to the shitter. He's like us, a hobbyist who just happened to have his hobby become the career.. that to me is the american dream, and while its gone down in quality maybe jamin needs to get more involved in teh day to day stuff. I do know they've upgraded their phone system twice in the last 9 months alone, and are waiting on all sorts of inventory and servers for the IT side to start improving their inventory control and product "real time availiaility" it does seem to me to be that they have grown just way way too damn fast.. so slamming on the breaks last august and slowing down to 35 in a 45 mph zone may have helped.. instead they kicked it into 5th gear and hit 70.. shit was bound to go wrong then... 2. What do you find funny? Don't worry, I'm not related to Joe Pesci... Thats one of my favorite movies. :) Thank god, because i find you funny... as in funny ha ha :P I found your tone, and tongue in cheek comments to be hillarious. things like the "i did type this in word first". Reminded me of a buddy of mine. Very funny in his matter a fact sarcastic writing.
3. Have you ever ordered from PSA?multiple times, both online and in storefront, as well as having to sort orders my brother had placed while on deployment to be delivered to me for safe keeping until he returned from his deployment. i'd say in the last year alone my brother and I have spent damn near over 10k, both in store and online. 4. Did they ship you exactly what you ordered? Yes and no. Ive had some orders come completely correct, and others come missing parts. This is both online orders that were shipped to me, and orders i placed and picked up immediately at teh storefronts Some of these that were wrong that i ordered they shipped me the replacement parts no questions asked.. some i had to argue / discuss via PM and phone and email for over a month, yet others i just walked into the store front told them what i was missing and they went and got it.. The point is that Every order that was wrong, they made it right. and unfortunately i never got any free swag from them for it or upgraded barrels like others have lol. 5. Did they ship it within 15 working days? some were shipped under 15 days, some were shipped over 15days. It depended on the part. For instance the last order i placed online was for a BCG. I placed it on 12/18. I received it around 1/17 iirc, (id have to go check paperwork at the house) and while it was over the 15 days, (for instore pickup none the less) i understood it was during the gunapocalypse and over not 1 but 2 major holidays. While i did inquire here in the where is my order thread, and the bcg threads, i knew i'd receive my part in a reasonable amount of time considering all that was going on. I did. And it was correct, although i doubt the fact that they were in stock in their warehouse when they posted them on their site. So if they werent, they shouldnt list anything until its on hand and physically touched by a employee with a scan gun(see logistics issues again) 6. Why are you defending them? [red]two main reasons. 1.) theyre good people. those ive met personally have honorable intentions. they try to take care of you as best as they can. there is no form of Malicious intent in them that i can see. 2.) they're my home team. Im within 20 miles of both columbia stores and love the fact i can get stuff stamped with my home town on it, as well as have a *USUALLY* large variety of stuff at *USUALLY* incredible pricing.. obviously these have changed recently some. Not to mention the fact that Im a Carolina fan. We're used to rooting for the underdog, the one everyone says sucks, repeatedly for decades.. only to now see some hope. ![]()
Just so you know, I've ordered at least 10 times from them. When they were a young, upcoming business, they were Top Fucking Notch! In the last few months, I think their theme song has turned to "Row, row your boat.... Quickly off a cliff" Sad to see them go down like this. I agree it is sad. I try to keep a positive outlook here, as im sure there are hundreds of folks who get exactly what they order on time, and just dont post up.. fact is we usually only hear the bad on here not always the good. i hope ive answered your questions to your satisfaction. Thanks for taking the time to ask. ETA: I didn't write this in word first ![]()

TLDR. For some reason, that doesn't surprise me.
wondering if my long post scared ya off. lol Scared? Me? I'm too fucking dumb to be scared. Well, maybe a litttle scared of that big meanie, Dragynn.....
Thanks for your answers. Sounds like they could use somebody like you in Management over there. You've got some good ideas. Maybe someone besides me will take the time to read them and actually implement some of them. As far as your perception of me thinking Jamin is doing this to his business on purpose, well, you're just plain wrong. I just think he tried to build his business too quickly and now it's coming back to bite him. I'm sure he isn't sleeping as well now as he was a year ago. I've ordered a ton of stuff from PSA since I found out about them. Probably made 12 - 15 orders. Every one of them was perfect until this last one, placed towards the end of November. They shorted me a SSA-E and a Classic LPK without the FCG. Since I made them aware of the missing parts, I've seen both in stock. Twice, when I called, the Omniscient, Omnipotent, Infallible Customer Service God actually told me that they had my parts in their hands and would ship ASAP. Take a fat guess what I'm still missing. Now, THAT'S Customer Service! I know we're in the middle of the biggest panic buying period ever, but that's absolutely no excuse to ignore requests for updates in the other thread or flat out lie to your customers. I'll have to admit, I'm a tad jelly of you because you live close enough to walk in the store and actually speak with someone face to face. Oh, well, spring is coming and I need a good excuse for a long day trip on the VTX1800. If I don't get my shit by the time I get some decent riding weather, I might just have to boogie on down that way for some face time. I just hope I don't run into Dragynn while I'm there....

Thanks for your answers. Sounds like they could use somebody like you in Management over there. You've got some good ideas. Maybe someone besides me will take the time to read them and actually implement some of them. You are welcome. I have no issue answering any questions. Thanks for the compliment. I work in IT, for a major university, so I have a lot of time online. I've done some retail management, in my past, but i'd be really reluctant to leave the state system. I would however enjoy a nice part time gig.. even if it was nothing more than counter help or slinging stock on to the shelves. I dont know if they will or not. I would think most of what i wrote was common sense. As far as your perception of me thinking Jamin is doing this to his business on purpose, well, you're just plain wrong. I just think he tried to build his business too quickly and now it's coming back to bite him. I'm sure he isn't sleeping as well now as he was a year ago. Now, THAT'S Customer Service! This is INEXCUSABLE from a customer service stand point, as well as a Management standpoint in my book. If i were a Mgr there I'd be livid for things like this. They would definately be addressed in a weekly 10 min pre work meeting daily if need be. I know we're in the middle of the biggest panic buying period ever, but that's absolutely no excuse to ignore requests for updates in the other thread or flat out lie to your customers.again that is true, but not having your parts correct since NOVEMBER is inexcusable. Not only should they address this immediately they should do something to smooth it over some. A tshirt / hat wouldnt be enough to cut it at this point. I honestly dont think they're intentionally lying.. i think that the shit is just so screwed up there is no accountability and check system to ensure that something is actually being sent after the CS has addressed the issue. I also think/KNOW their inventory system needs to be finished being upgraded to real time. The system now they have is best guess/estimate and is horrid. That is one reason that inventory is seperate from online versus in store im sure. I just hope I don't run into Dragynn while I'm there.... it is a big plus honestly man. But alot of the time lately there is nothing on the shelves. its kinda sad how little there is now compared to 3 months ago, and even then they still didnt have BCG's all the time or other parts. Things were just starting to get back to normal. VTX1800... sounds nice. My brother and I were looking at harleys last fall. I think i want a Fat Bob. I dont think i've met Dragynn yet in person... the only person from Arfcom i've met since being on here is PANZER SEARGENT. He's a cool dude and straight shooter. Oddly enough i met him in line at PSA on Farrow Road. LOL. Ashley was talking to me about some of my posts here and thats how we struck up conversation. A ride down to SC would be a good road trip on a bike though... I've not ridden any long distance rides on any bikes, other than around town on my buddies bikes.

So are you saying that Jamin is intentionally doing this or that what i think your saying that theyve just grown too fast... if the latter, I agree with this assessment you have posted.
We are in complete agreement. Jamin wants to run a successful business with nothing but satisfied customers. What business owner doesn't? I have a few licenses that allow me to peddle myself, my knowledge, and my work ethic to others. I strive for the same thing as, I'm sure, Jamin wants. Satisfied customers that will recommend his business to others. I used to recommend PSA fervently, but do not now. The flip side of the coin is that I'm sure not every one of my clients recommend me to their associates. That's the nature of business. Hell, that's just nature. Nobody sees eye to eye with everyone. Earlier in the thread, you made a reference to hitting the brakes to slow down a bit versus downshifting and flooring it. We're on the same page. Perfect analogy. 'Nuff said, there. As far as "face time" goes, I agree 10,000%. Just like you couldn't "hear" the tone of my post, folks that have you on the phone get a better feel of your demeanor. And they still lie to you. I've had that happen more than I care to think about. As far as meeting local yokels, keep your eye on the Carolinas Hometown Forum. We get together for a big gathering anytime someone can talk someone with some land into letting 50-60 gun nuts overrun their property for a weekend. You might want to search the archives in the Carolinas Forum to get an idea of just how much fun we have. I'm seriously Jonesing for the next shoot, and I just took 3 pre med students shooting Saturday. No homo. It was my step son and two of his friends. Plenty of 1911, AR15, AR10, .444 Marlin, .44Mag, shit, I don't have time to list everything we shot, but I can tell you that 7 pounds of Tannerite will blow a decent sized poplar tree in half. Gotta run. I'm starving. Gotta run and look in the mirror and get fed up.

Satisfied customers that will recommend his business to others. Yep, we are in complete agreement. I just dont understand some of the other folks who come on here and think that PSA is intentionally failing or wanting to screw things up. I used to recommend PSA fervently, but do not now. The flip side of the coin is that I'm sure not every one of my clients recommend me to their associates. That's the nature of business. Hell, that's just nature. Nobody sees eye to eye with everyone. I did too. I still do, but i do add disclaimers as it will take some time to get the parts, and if there is something wrong with your order, they will fix it, but it may take some time. Just be patient and know itll get there and be right.. just may take some time. I agree with your assesment about nature and the fact no one sees eye to eye.. i do think though that some folks dont want to meet in the middle anymore either. It is kinda sad how society as a whole has been devolving.. Earlier in the thread, you made a reference to hitting the brakes to slow down a bit versus downshifting and flooring it. We're on the same page. Perfect analogy. 'Nuff said, there. thanks. I thought so too. and my other hobby is camaro's so i related to it. :) As far as "face time" goes, I agree 10,000%. I do tend to get in that forum once a day usually. It does sound like a blast. Maybe once my brother gets back in town from deployment and if the stars align we can make it to one of these things. Sounds like a great time. Funny you say Pre-med. I work for A med School. LOL. Small world.
