Had never heard of this until ordering from you guys.
Paid $7 dollars shipping for a 2lb package and I'll be waiting at least 7 days to get it. $4.95 USPS flat rate would get here in 2-3 days. Yuck! |

Umm...I think it will show up via USPS anyway. My MagPul stock was dropped off at the post office by UPS yesterday and delivered USPS today. Even so, 7.00 bucks is cheap, it is MUCH easier and cost effective for PSA to use their own packaging, have their regular UPS driver pick up the parcels and get the stuff out the door. Adding another step in the logistics by hauling everything to the post office would only slow down deliveries. |

I first encountered UPS Basic about a year ago. UPS Basic allows UPS the option to deliver the package to your local PO and have USPS do the actual delivery. It allows the vendor to use their own packaging rather than the small flat rate boxes and offers better tracking than USPS' tortes-speed system. Yes it's a little slower than Priority but also cheaper on items that don't fit in a small flat rate box and cheaper than UPS Ground. All in all I think it simplifies things for the vendor.
I live in Charlotte, a large metropolitan area, and USPS delivers my basic packages. Google UPS Basic and you'll find plenty of info on it. |

UPS must decide to drop all of the packages off to the USPS in WV. I could literally see the post office and the people in it if there weren't buildings in between us and the UPS truck drives down this street everyday yet they decide to drop off to USPS. I know it's not Palmetto's fault in any way, I just figure I'll get the package an extra day or two later than what the tracking number expects for me. |
