What can anybody tell me about the Colt Tactical Elite? What did it look like, what features did it have, etc.? How was it for accuracy? I have a chance to purchase a Upper and need to know what I am looking at.

Tactical Elite was the TE6700.  They have the Colt Custom Shop roll mark on the side.

A3 upper with a 20" Bull Barrel.

Hogue freefloat tube and grip.

JP Trigger

Hooked stock (on most).

Supposedly 1000 made.  Some as a package with a scope and carry case.  Rumored that more than half of them were split up into parts and sold off that way, as the MSRP of the complete rifle was too high.

Thanks Stokes. How accurate were they & what do you think a low mileage, used barrel would be worth?

I honestly can't comment on accuracy.  I've actually owned five of them now, but never shot any of them.  I really just think they look cool.

If I saw one for sale in the $900 and under range, I'd buy it.  Anything over that is to much in my opinion.  I've paid as much as $1000 for one before, coming out on it by the skin of my teeth.

If it's a stripped barrel (with nut and gas block), I'd probably pay $150 for it.

I hope this helps a bit.  Good luck with your projects.
