Just scored this 6933CK LE trade in upper locally today from Surplus City. Have been looking for a nice used Commando 11.5 upper for awhile and I had a spare SBR lower just waiting for it.

Im not to far. But far enough to not be able to run over when they post cool shit.
They sell some good stuff at really reasonable prices.
Got a Canadian 6520, older restricted bushmaster, and a Chinese sks from them.
I was going to grab one of the restricted 6920s they just had but didn't feel like running up there

It was $500 for the complete 11.5 Colt upper...how could I say no lol I already scored a 6721 LE trade in from them last month so I figured I'd go back and see if they had anything else and scored the commando upper.

Serial # CR071499 shown in the photo is from roughly December 2021.

The CR 'Carbine' marked products were not around in 2018. The product series was launched in late 1st quarter or early 2nd quarter 2021.
I had discussed a 'writers sample' of a CR6700A4 (20" rifle w/ 20" barrel and 'Carbine' marked lower receiver) with Colt around July of 2021. I passed on it though, and bought a new production AR15A4 instead.

That seems high. Ultimately, it depends on the condition, and who if anyone dicked with it. Unfortunately there is no way to get a true read on that buying online.

None of the recents ones posted on here have the restricted markings, thats why. As another user mentioned, at that point youre just paying for a used recent production colt.

Even at that price, I don't see why someone would purchase one when you can get a brand new CR6920 for a little more. The LE markings are nice, but not that nice.

Stamped vs Laser Engraved. End of an era. The only engraved Colts I own are the EU models. I once bought a police trade and received a brand new engraved model. I sold it in short order. I have no desire to own a modern Colt, yet. Full disclosure, I did not buy one of these, but only because I am being more selective these days.

I get the stamped vs engraved thing from a collecting standpoint. However, from a collecting standpoint, a scratched up well used rifle isn't near as desirable as one in newish condition. Plus, the engraving is literally better. This kind of reminds me of the demand for SP1's. It makes sense that they're desired by collectors who want to fill a hole in their collection. However, some people seem to think that SP1's are somehow better than the more recently manufactured rifles. I don't know about it from a quality standpoint, but from a features standpoint they're simply not as good. Plus, they even often include parts that Colt installed in an attempt to placate the gun banners. That's nothing that I want in my collection.

The Sportsman Warehouse link posted earlier had these fixed carry handle AR15A3 carbines that look pretty good to me. Unless prices have really tanked, this seems not too bad.

I have picked up a few of these police trade in rifles (6920s in my case), and just have not been disappointed in any of them.

I don’t think that the upper came with that lower from the factory in the link above. I’m not even sure if that barrel came factory on the upper either.

I thought all the ar15a3 tactical carbines were a flat top with a 16” heavy barrel.

Anyone else want to shed some light on this?

For me personally, I think those are the best M4 carbine markings. No QR codes and full rollmarks.

Me too. The very best lowers Colt ever made IMO. No QR codes (I hate those), no restriction markings, 0.155 fcg pins, and fully roll marked.
