I imagine most of them had already been boxed up. They are pretty beat up. One worse than the others with lots of scratches from being stacked on top of each other or thrown into racks and trunks but not much finish wear to the anodizing the kind you'd see from being rubbed while slung. I haven't had a chance to do much with these other than snap some pics so they may look a little better once cleaned up and oiled. Here's a couple pics:

A little elbow grease and a very light scotchbrite Pad and I was able to remove them all. |

I just finished cleaning my M4LE lower receiver this morning and I was able to remove every mark. Non abrasive is what you want, otherwise it will damage the surface. I use Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black, some Q-tips and go to town. It will not remove/damage the anodizing, but it will slowly remove the mark. It is amazing how well it works. |

Two things to add: 1) I called colt with my serial numbers and was told my rifles in the LE019*** range were made in November 2004 and sold to "Phoenix Distributors." 2) I just realized one of the lowers I got from this drop was the exact lower they used for the listing photo. This isn't historically significant but I thought it was neat.

The PD who owned these definitely did some monkeying on the rifles because the end plates have been swapped with sling loop versions and they didn't bother to re-stake them after installation. Colt probably wouldn't have sold them that way. |

There is no indication, at least on my lower, that anything was used. My lower looks new. |

All on gunbroker from the same 2 or so vendors (gideon tactical and phoenix dist) and they did not have leo markings |
