Definitely going to sub to this and read it in depth tomorrow. Much appreciated OP, good read so far.

Well, I thought this might get moved but to general discussion to get quickly buried?

Love your write ups so far. One thing to consider is moving those images from photobucket to imgur or some other photo hosting platform. Photobucket screwed the internet and your pictures will get blurred after enough people see them, then they will want to charge you money. Use a different photo hosting platform. View Quote consider Imgur as a viable alternative to photobucket. ETA: I see you're a paid member, so you're GTG. admittedly, a lot of work to upload to a new host site, and even more work to edit all your posts with the new links. But it's a matter of time before this excellent reference post is made worthless with blurry pics (but with a clear PhotoBucket watermark). |

My first AR was a Colt SP1. Bought it two weeks before the AWB. Paid $600 for a well used rifle with a purple upper. Sold it a month later for $1800 after the ban passed. I miss that slab sided rifle.

Wow...an authentic gun thread in GD
OP - damn nice photography work...and a hell of a cool collection. Thanks for sharing |

Awesome OP
Although I admit was expecting Colt 1911’s, not disappointed however. You did remind me of catalogs I had and the wife unit threw away. In true ARFCOM fashion I decided to..... oh, wait... not eject. |

No, you got the right place. Sometimes we actually talk about guns and shit, not just chili recipes and cat memes.

Great write up. I’ve subbed and hopefully can keep this alive (even in GD)

My Colts are my favorites.
Someday, Colt will leave that liberal shit hole and move to Arizona and set up shop. |

Magnificent write up. Welcome aboard!

Well. At least someone thinks this is a forum about firearms.

This whole time I was thinking who in the hell collects mid 90 to late 2000s Colts. They are about the least desirable. I got to the green label and thought finally at least you have something kind of collectable.
Then you dropped the retro bomb with the SP1 and 601s. That was completely unexpected and worth the excessive wear your post put on my scroll wheel. |
|
No clones no care. Where's the SOPMOD Block 2'z, the MK18s, the MK12's, and the Recce's?
Eta: also no 1911's or wheel guns? |
|
Excellent!
I like Colt too, although I only have one and sadly it is incomplete. I have been piecing it together over the past year. I need a set of grips and BCG then I will be done. |
|
Beautiful guns. But I can't understand how someone can own do many examples of the same gun.

Awesome pics and descriptions OP. You should post all the early 601/A1 rifles in the AR15/16 retro forum I guarantee those guys will love your posts over there

Cool post, I was just passing through GD headed to the retro forum with my coffee this morning.
Thanks. |

AR's aren't my thing. They never have been and they never will be. View Quote |

One of the best first posts in a while.
That price list from 1985 was a trip. |

Old school tag on this one, so far I like this guy.
Oh and I second the notion that this might not be "General Discussion" material. |

Nice collection but I was expecting something much more of a problem Where are all the SAAs and 1911s? Are they coming in another post? |
