Quoted: FN also doesn't have the M203 cut outs on the barrel, either. Also has "FN" on the stock. I agree that the 2018 Socom has the edge now. View Quote |

Has anyone milled off the pinned FH yet? Just wondering if it has the thread adapter like the Heavy barrel expanse did. Need to install my SF FH for my RC.

I got a takeoff SOCOM upper from the EE. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1786/43534449512_51cc52e32a_c.jpg 8rds in and I had a failure. BCG was stuck. I still haven't received a shipping notice from FWT guns. I emailed them last week and they said it should be "shipping soon."

Quoted: OMG. That is a odd failure. Did the upper receiver group look factory new, or did it look like the seller mucked-up the factory upper, or took off factory parts? View Quote When I got it, I inspected the BCG, chamber and bore. Cleaned the nasty oil off of it and re-lubed it. I gave everything else a quick lookover and function test. |

Picked up my SOCOM today. Looks very nice. No F marked FSB. No C marked bolt, no Knights foregrip.
Going to call Colt about the foregrip in the morning. |

We got them in this week, $1,350, there are a few left

I paid $1480 shipped at Tombstone. Thought that was a good deal under MSRP. Guess I should have waited.
Can anyone confirm the rumor that these were limited to 250 total units? Also, I received mine. No F marked FSB. No C marked carrier. No short KAC rail panels. No KAC VFG. Called Colt and they are sending me the VFG and some short rail panels. IF you are missing yours, it is worth the call. |

Quoted: exactly. Some folks on GB are selling for $2k. I once purchased an oriental rug from "over there" and always wondered if I got a good deal or not. A friend told me, "if you like the rug, then you got a good deal." Far too much over analyzing of price in this thread. These are unique items. Supply will ebb and flow for the short while that Colt is selling these, and if you don't get one, you will cry later and start looking for one at $3k. They are gone!
@armsunlimited: You guys expecting to get any additional units? |

.......ARMSUNLIMITED...... is this a limited run or will you be getting more??? Colts website does not indicate this is limited production, but says "returns 2018".

Many retailers have had these 2018 SOCOMs. With as many as have been listed/sold across so many vendors and gunbroker I don't see how there could be a low number.
The only SOCOM that I have seen limited was the 2017 (M4A1 rollmark) that started this thread. |

The only SOCOM that I have seen limited was the 2017 (M4A1 rollmark) that started this thread. View Quote There is a reason you see everyone selling out. High demand, very low supply. Then you have GB, where you have a few guys who bought when they could and are selling to cash-in. Happens often. You also see the 6920 and the 6920HBPW struggling on GB at the same price as 6 months back. That should give you an honest view of supply and demand. Lots of LE6920s and LE6920 HBPWs sitting around without buyers at list price. Not too many LE6920 SOCOMs on GB waiting for a bid. Like I mentioned before, if you like the gun, and you see it, buy it. If you want to wait for the next deal, it might be there. It might not. My guess is that you can find a deal in August, if you are fast. There are those people who camp-out for the best deal on the latest iPhone. If you want to camp-out, it sounds like you know where to look. Just one guy's view. No better no worse than anyone elses'. (just got tired of listening to Sunday morning politics). |

Quoted: Looking at the serial number range, there is definitely more than 250 produced. And that was just first batch serial numbers. View Quote I would suggest that the supply is comming in monthly batches, which seem to be released by distributors periodically. At least two batches so far. One at the end of May, and the next in early-mid July. I am guessing there will be a similar batch in mid-late August, and thus the serial numbers have no special meaning. |

Quoted: I don't think you can compare serial number ranges. I could be wrong, but my take is that the serial numbers refer to the larger universe of LE6920 family of lowers produced. The lowers are engraved with Manufacturer and serial number, and then stamped later with the brand and logo. In this case, the US Gov't Property mark. What you are suggesting, and it could be the case, is that all SOCOMs came from the same batch of sequential serialized LE6920 lowers, or were pulled contemporaneously. I would suggest that the supply is comming in monthly batches, which seem to be released by distributors periodically. At least two batches so far. did you see this one - 10% savings flash sale through tomorrow morning:
ETA: removed pic. Not fair to tease since the sale is ending. |

Colt sent mwe the KAC grip and rail very quickly. Unfortunately, they sent me another long rail instead of the short rail. Now, I have the three long rails that came with the rifle, plus the four they included in the accessory pack and the one they just sent. Total: 8 long rails.

I do like these rifles a lot. They are sweet! I found them in stock here:
http://store.jlowesguns.com/rifles/semi-automatic-rifles/colt-le6920socom-556-nato-161-bbl-troy-rail-1523082 The guy I talked to on the phone said he still had a handful of them, but they go pretty quick when he gets them in. |

Ordered mine from FWT guns on July 8th and had my FFL to them within minutes. They said it should ship "shortly" the few times I followed up with them over the past few weeks. I checked with them yesterday, and they still didn't have a ship date for an item that said it was "in stock" when I ordered it.
I cancelled the order. I'm hoping @armsunlimited gets more in. I should have stuck with someone I was familiar with. I'm sorry if anyone had the same trouble as a result of me posting the link to FWTguns.com. |

I ordered on 7-28 from AU and it shipped 7-30. I think you are seeing the method Colt uses for the 38 Super El Cen models. They only make a run or two every year. They are normal priced at first then all of the sudden they are $500 above normal. Its a roller coaster. I do feel the previous versions just lost a bit of value due to the way these are marked though.

Really wished I would have a waited a week to purchase mine. Seems most places have the SOCOM for $100 less than what I paid.
Well, at least I have one. |
