Quoted: I'm glad to hear you got a proper black one. I'm sorry mine is purple too. AU wouldn't take it back and told me they were all like this. Well obviously they aren't, so buyer beware. Mine is a definite purplish grey. I'm going to put it up for sale and wash my hands of this. If anyone wants a $2,000 purple Colt m203, let me know. View Quote |

Tax Stamp came back a few days ago. About 6 months as in individual.
Anybody else? Now what cool loads besides TP does one recommend? |

I would engrave the barrel. You bought it for the pony markings right?
Shit.
Engraved the receiver a couple days ago. Oh well. At least it's done real well, low key and I don't plan on ever selling this thing. Also, if I remove the 40 barrel and pop the 37mm back on, is the receiver not currently in DD configuration-kind of like when you remove a SBR upper off a stamped lower and put a 16" carbine upper on it? |

It won't be a DD unless you possess anti-personnel munitions that will fit in the 37mm, or additionally transport/possess the 40mm barrel with it. Yes, it's just like the other Title I temporary stuff. View Quote |
If you want to use the 37mm as a DD (with anti-personnel munitions for example), then yes, you'd need the engraving present at that time and interstate transport rules (Form 5320.20) would also apply.

Quoted: Thanks, I have an AR lower that will need to be engraved too, may as well kill 2 birds with one stone and send them both in. Part of me wants to send them in now, but then I'll have jinxed myself and find out I'm waiting another 6 months for the stamps. If I wait to send them in, they'll be here in a week,.......hopefully. View Quote I’d just send em in now, that way when you get your stamps in, you’d already have your engravings done and be fully compliant. Oh, and thanks KitBuilder. Sooooo, who has some chalk rounds they can spare? |

Is the KAC QD mount worth it? I have the GI one already, locks up pretty nice. What advantage does the KAC offer besides QD? Does it loosen up over time? Is the GI mount more solid?
I like my KAC QD mount. It hasn't loosened up any, but it's apparently designed to handle plenty of abuse and wear. The "ninja star" has 4 depth positions (and will turn around backwards for a fifth) but mine is still on the thinnest one, which is where I'm told they generally always are when new.
QD is the only advantage, other than looking cool when you mount it. If you're willing to dedicate an upper to the M203 then QD isn't very helpful, unless you have a standalone stock for the 203 you like to swap frequently. It's really not a big deal to dismount the standard bracket with a screwdriver. You just have to be careful not to lose parts if doing it outside. The QD doesn't have this concern. Now if you wire the standard mount, it becomes a much bigger deal to undo it. I don't recommend that however. Use thread locker if you're concerned about loosening screws. I didn't (on the QD bracket's screws) and mine hasn't loosened. It's pretty cool to pull off a RAS lower rail and snap on the 203. If you go with the DD RIS II it will free-float the 203 and of course this gives a benefit to the rifle/carbine barrel. |
Damn, thats a lot of good dope. Thanks for the feedback. Guess im off to feed my kac whore. I do love the look for the kac and m203 combo. Its sick. I just wish the m4a1 barrel wasnt so heavy. Once u slap on a peq, surefire, aimpoint, and lmt sopmod, its getting heavy.
Heavy for sure. I would run the old school M4 profile barrel unless you're doing more than 4 30-round mag dumps at a time.

I got an email today from DSArms with a bunch of 203 stuff for sale. No 37mm or 40mm barrels that I see, but lots of other neat stuff. Don't know if prices are competitive, but hey, if one of the guys that got a Mexican Colt 6920 wants a mexican marked M203 to go with it, here ya are. |

Wtf. Why is it so cheap. If only i could figure out a way to mount that to a fnc. Al pacino could have ended that shoot out sooner.

I have an extra piece after mounting my M203 using the USGI kit that I can't figure out how it fits in.
It's a square plate with hooks and a screw hole. Anyone know how this is supposed to fit into the GI mounting bracket? Pictured here center https://www.dsarms.com/p-16993-m203-40mm-barrel-mount-bracket-with-hardware.aspx I just left it off and haven't experienced any ill, but the fact that it isn't on there bugs me a bit. |

A little off topic, but got the new LMT 37mm in this week. I am trying to figure out:
I will admit, I am a noob to the M203. I probably could buy the airsoft version and remove the Chinese "Made in USA" stickers and be quite happy, as I am never going to use it for bean bag anti-riot grenade. Attached File |

According to this video:
NEW: LMT M203 37mm Flare Launcher LMT modified the dimensions of the receiver so it will not accept a 40mm barrel assembly, which technically makes it not a M203 receiver. DD receivers are Title I firearms without their barrels attached, but apparently your launcher is neither. I wouldn't pay $1,500 for any of them, but to each their own. The Colt in general should be more desirable, but really 37mm unregulated launchers vs. Title I launchers that'll accept 40mm barrels are two different markets, even though the products are near identical as 37mm units. The buyer more likely to exclusively use 37mm products will likely favor the non-firearm launcher. |

Have you read this thread? View Quote I did like the stock thing they have. |

In the end the only M203s that will hold value are the Colt marked ones. The DSA ones are the equivalent of buying a no name AR15 lower, good luck trying to sell it later
Not from what I have found...but if any other brand holds value like Colt it is KAC
If anyone wants to sell their 37mm barrel please im or email me. I’ll gladly take it off your hands.

With the release of the DSArms M203 receivers at the $595 price point, the demand for 37mm barrels will be increasing. As the LMT 37mm barrels won't fit the standard receiver, the only options would be Colt and Randy Shivak. Has anyone contacted Randy? Maybe he could be talked into a production run or a group buy of some sort? I know he's retired, but you never know. Some one in the industry must know how to get a batch of 37mm M203 barrels produced?

I would fully expect the LMT 40mm barrel to fit in the Colt launcher. @coctailer , maybe you could confirm. At under $500, the LMT barrels are available. Seems to make sense. A Colt 40mm recently sold for much more. These should be mix and match, right? View Quote |

@ArmsUnlimited
Any word on selling the 37mm barrels separately? |
We've requested them, if they ever get supplied we will sell them
@ArmsUnlimited et all - Dumb question... What makes these not an SBR/SBS when mounted to a rifle with a stock? As a 40mm DD or a non-firearm, I understand the bore and barrel restrictions do not apply. But as a 37mm Title I firearm?.. Is it as simple as they are a firearm (smooth bore perhaps so neither a long gun nor pistol) so having a stock doesn't matter?
These M203 receivers do not have factory staked barrel latch pin holes.
I am so tempted to buy a couple of these..
I have bought from this company before they are awesome to deal with, still regretting only have bought 8 of the Colt 9mm camo lowers those are an awesome deal. Edit: I remember wanting a Colt 203 back in the late 80's when buying a couple M16a2 rifles my dealer was quoting me $2500 for a NIB Colt back in the late 80's early 90's how things have changed. |
