Has anyone received a notice as to when these are going to ship? Last I heard they could ship as far out as middle of October. Is that still the case?
Does anyone know the name of the company that has the licensing deal from Colt on these units? |
|
No one has a licensing deal for these. PERIOD. They are COLT manufactured M203s. The serials start with GL which were in house manufactured. We are the only dealer who has them and got them directly from Colt.
There are other manufacturers who have made M203s for Colt on a variange (they are still marked Colt) over the years those include Airtronic, LMT, US Ordnance etc the only way to tell is the prefix on the serial number. The Airtronic manufactured ones started with AGL for example |
|
They are in our possession, we have not put them in stock or shipped any yet. I will announce it here a few hours before we email blast it. They are expected to be put in stock by the end of the month in time for holiday season
|
|
Official date we will be putting the M203s on sale will be November 15th

You mean that you special ordered 300 from colt to put in the market. Yes colt made them but they wouldn’t have if a special order wasn’t made for you guys. Just like the m4 commando lowers you special ordered that colt would have never made if you didn’t special order them. That’s how you guys are getting these. Anyone can go to them and special order whatever they want. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

And? Who cares? No one else IS bringing cool stuff to the market. If something is a special order, does that mean it is not authentic? View Quote |

Wrong, what you stated is ABSOLUTE nonsense.
Colt had a larger quantity of the M203 receivers than we purchased. They were for a foreign military contract, half of the contract got canceled so they were sitting on 300 receivers. They asked us if we wanted them since we had been buying any 40mm's that came available and when we found out they weren't built complete yet we asked if we could get them as 37mm's instead of 40mm's. That is how we acquired them. The M4 Commando lowers were also sitting in inventory, originally made for a foreign military and were overruns, they are no longer making lowers with markings other than what is required on contract by the military and the M4 Carbine markings so they wanted to clear out all the obsolete marked lowers, this is why we had SCW marked lowers, M4 Commandos, AR15A4, Mexico etc etc Quoted:

See my answer above for the REAL facts
Your logic that a Colt factory manufactured and marked item is not "true" Colt if it was special ordered is completely flawed. You are spewing nonsense. The special ordered items are some of the most valuable. I guarantee there won't be another dealer with any of the SCW stocks, M4 Commando lowers or M203 receivers we supplied to market. Not because they were special ordered but because they were procured exclusively by Arms Unlimited and they will be worth even more to collectors because they were released in such limited quantities with no chance of reorder. Those M4 Commando lowers are selling for more than double what we sold them for and it hasn't even been a year since they sold out. Quoted:
If the seller is selling it as an original colt that haven’t been released or colt has ever offered before, then that is the issue. Stuff like this i see as not being a true colt. Just something offered by a company like this. Just my thoughts on it. View Quote |

I don't know how this thread hasn't been locked yet, there are way too many butt-hurt people in here. They don't like the price so they do everything in their power to shit all over AU. I wish I could afford one, but I'm not going to make completely base-less claims to make myself feel better about it.

How can a title I firearm shoot a cartridge greater than .50?
I thought the 37mm launchers got around it by being a non-firearm signalling device. |

Fluff... I don't buy into the hype around these GL... If you plan to use one of these, couch commando's need not apply, unless you plan to put this in your safe along with all of the other toys that don't see the light of day. How many other high priced items are in your "collection"? I bet not many. So, why would you spend good money on an item 99% of you will never use? Seriously, why? View Quote |

How are these considered a title 1 firearm when this is a 37MM launcher? Are these 37MM tubes smooth bore? because it's serialized? I thought 37MM launchers could be delivered to your front door?
|
|
They are smooth bore 37mm, serialized receivers that were registered as title 1 by Colt so they are sold the same way a mossberg shockwave is sold
They are serialized therefor we are treating them as we would any other firearm Quoted:

Simple put...because I can. I buy things like this to remind of when I was young, cool, and surrounded by incredible teammates, living on the edge of life. Now, I'm older, far wealthier, but much poorer by the loss of the adventures I can no longer participate in. So if having a 37mm Colt M203 makes me feel young once more, I'm going to purchase it. As to the other 99% of the NFA items laying about in my safes. I'm grateful that we live in a country where they are just memory joggers and not needed for an everyday trip to the market. 18Z50..I didn't make war, but I certainly made it messier! Anything you need to tell yourself.
"I just wanna" is my excuse. |

so, maybe I am confused, but what is the 40mm that is available now? It looks like only part of a part...

the fuck man ...

Have any changes been made to this launcher by yourselves or Colt that would prevent us from doing a simple install of a 40mm barrel once all the NFA a paperwork has been approved? Colt is known to make things harder for civilians to alter firearms in the past
|
|
Is this still on for tomorrow? For those of us that had emailed right at the beginning, will we be alerted first before they are listed as "in stock" for the general public? If not, what time tomorrow will these be listed as in stock for ordering?
|
|
No modifications have been made preventing such installation. Just be aware installation is subject to NFA regulation and does require appropriate ATF NFA paperwork
