2500 bucks for it! No thank you. I am a Colt fan boy as well.
I would see 1200 to 1300 at most. It is a great idea. My first Colt was a SP-1 rifle back in 1982. My dad gave me a SP-1 when I was 16. I know I am an middle aged old man now. I could buy one, but it is not worth that much money. |

Yeah, $2,500 is pretty stiff, but I'll freaking bent over... And break out the credit card for one... I'm hoping that the street price will be $2,000 or less, but I seriously doubt that they will go for less than $1,900, especially for a limited run collector's "M16A1" rifle. If I do find one of these "M16A1" rifles, I'll be adding an A1 flash hider to mimic my issued M16A1 from 1980.
Like many, I'm hoping that they release a "M16A2" and "M16A4," as well as a correct military looking "M4" carbine to round out that collection. |
| Also, this M16A1 Reissue is not produced by Colt. It is produced by US Ordnance under license by Colt and it distributed by Colt. Colt management decided to make these limited runs in order to justify the ridiculous price. They are trying to convince people that all of the re-tooling is what drove the price up. I like my Colt ARs (all pre-ban), but I would not pay $2500 for this rifle. I will stick to building my own retros from original and repro parts. Much cheaper and more rewarding. Bear in mind that another company is producing their line of period correct vintage ARs for half the money and less. |

Quoted:
M16A1 clone with no chome lined barrel? Thought the M16A1s had the chrome lined barrels? The early M16s that predate the A1s didn't have chrome lined barrels. $2,500.00 for a rifle that's not a "correct" repo? I was planning to buy one but not now. Both are correct. |

They've already done the M16A4 with the AR15A4. Quoted:

I know it's a silly @ss issue, but I would like one marked "M16A4" vs. one simply marked "AR-15A4," which I already have. |
for that kind of money I want a Colt IAR.
