From reading the forums here, it seems Colt runs specific models for a period of time. It has been a while since the LE6940 has had a run. This has caused the price to go up to anywhere between $1500 to $2000. They were around $1200 and some change early this year. At Shot Show, they had a new model with an extended modular handguard, LE6940AE-3G. Just hoping to see some SOCOMs and monolithic models hitting the market.

Looks like Clydes has them again- $1249. Nope. Out of stock, and last listed price there was 1399. Uppers only were 969 and they're out of stock too. 6940's are impossible to find. Ridiculous prices on the boards--saw one today for 2200 and one for 2700. No buyers, but no stock anywhere either. They're not going to be cheap, whatever they are. Where is anybody going to get them to sell them even reasonably? Not from Colt. Clyde's has almost no Colt's of any kind and no 6920's except one OD model for 1300, I think. Everywhere else the same story. No Colt's. |
| There is not much inventory out there at this time. There have been some crazy prices on GB. To make a 6944 happen I ordered an upper from Brownells, then ordered a 6920 oem 1. Since the lowers are the same I sold the 6920 upper and combined the two to make it happen. Even the 6920s are becoming difficult to find. |

Colt just shipped a small batch of LE6940's last week. Yep- a few more now on GB w/ $1399 opening bids. not sure what scomm is, but when walmart was liquidating all their ARs, they were selling some in some places for $599 according to a thread here. so there is at leaset one in the EE
