| Browsing Colt's website now that the XSE line has been discontinued, it appears there's no longer any variant of alloy frame Commander available. Think we'll see their return soon or ever? |

So the only way we can get one is a WC? No wonder Colt is having financial problems. On top of their union expenses and other problems they keep discontinuing stuff that is popular like the WWI M1911 and Python. I would love to see another Colt SP1 type rifle with proper sized trigger and takedown pins too.
I have been wanting a LTWT Colt Commander for a while,w as hoping they would bring out another Combat Commander model. |

Colt never listens to the public.........that is what got them in this hot mess: relying on military contracts in regards to the M16 rifle.
getting rid of the python revolver and all the classic guns that made COLT COLT is their downfall. Look at Smith and Wesson, they have a "CLASSIC LINE" of revolvers. Granted it has the stupid frame lock on the side, but at least they are still making the "Classic" revolvers that made Smith and Wesson what it is today. Colt...........man, its just a shame. I am loyal to the brand, but the people running it and deciding what is made and such......they need to go! The pythons are commanding HUGE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Colt should be ashamed of themselves for getting rid of the python, anaconda, diamondback (.38 and .22lr), King Cobra, detective Special, woodsman, lightning, and such. Heck even make a repo of the double barrel colt shotgun would be cool for SAS shooting. They just didn't understand the concept of "FUTURE" and how their past made their future. |

I guess when they brought out the series 70 . again, was not listening. and the delta elite 10mm. such a niche gun in the big scheme. yeah no one was bitching and whining about wanting one of those the pythons would not sell now. just like they didnt sell last time, and colt had to stop making them yeah yea. "they command a premium " on the used market. but if colt made them again, and asked even the old price for them. we would see nothing but endless bitching "whaaaaaaaaaa they cost too much!!! sniff sniff butthurt butthurt" then if they made a cheaper more affordable model. we would see all these supposed "buyers" screaming "whaaaaaaaaaaa they are not the same! they are not as good as the old ones!!! I want them hand made again!!! cry cry cry" why should they be ashamed of stopping production, of a bunch of fucking revolvers no one was buying? some of you guys show great ignorance in thinking just cause you got caught up in some old bullshit nostalgia or some romantic idea of revolvers or something. that everyone else in the gun buying public wants them. ever occur to some of you guys that they have done extensive market research to see if the majority of buyers would really buy that stuff again? cause I can tell you right now there is a reason they have not brought them back out. and yes, they do still have most of the machines to make those DA revolvers still. niche markets and gun guys who want all this "classic" stuff are not the majority of buyers in the world. hate to break it to ya. the time and effort to make that stuff, when few people would really buy it, is a bad idea. anyone who would stop letting nostalgia over ride common sense would see that if everyone who wants a python or andaconda wants them as bad as they claim. they should have been buying them in the first place before colt was forced to stop making them. because NO one was buying them. and the "i was too young " BS dont cut it. I dont know how may 50 to 60 year olds I have seen crybabying about wanting one. well. those fuckers been around long enough they could have bought one when they were in production . hell they wont even buy a used one. its like the gun owners version of some stupid liberal knee jerk reaction to something |

" "Oh I like my clone better" "I would but it just doesnt have the exact features I wanted" etc etc etc they are coming out with various LWT and combat commanders with railed frames Commanders listed on the colt website right here with links to were you can even buy them http://www.colt.com/Catalog/Pistols/1991%C2%AESeries.aspx of course I am sure there will be something about them guys will find to dislike enough to not buy |

I'd have to agree with Shawn... There's ahniche market for things like the SP1,or a Python, Detective Special.. etc etc etc... And there's a reason they are no longer being produced. As much as I'd love a D.S. or a Python, it would be a while until I was able to save a bit for one. It just it what it is. When a product is no longer financially viable, it has to be scrapped and resources have to be put forth elsewhere, in a product that will bring a profit.
I've seen those Colt LW commander all over Gunbroker. You can look on there right now and have a selection of at least 5 that are not W.C. models. As well as SP1s. Go buy one.. Edit: just searched Gunbroker and there were 6 or 7 LW Commanders on the first page searching Colt Commander. |
