Does anyone know if the gas port on the 16" SOCOM barrels is the same as on the 14.5" barrels? Also, are there any other differences between the two barrels other than length?
I would like to purchase a complete rifle and chop the barrel to just under 15" and permanently attach a NT4 FH so I can use my NT4. If the gas port is different or any other aspects of the barrel are different, I may just pay the $200 tax and SBR the lower. I was just trying to avoid jumping through a bunch of hoops on this one. Thanks! |

I thought the 16" had the flats cut as well? I'll be screwed if that's the case...how the hell am I going to mount my M203? Quoted:

A standard M4/M4A1 barrel +crush washer + KAC flash hider = 16".
A KAC is longer then a standard A2, and even the A2 only needs about 1/8". A jam nut fixes that. Having said that, I have heard/read that the pin can interfere with an actual suppressor. Adco can do the work. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v143/Stottman/Stottman022/IMG_6151.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v143/Stottman/Stottman022/IMG_6144.jpg |
