is the Colt LE6920CMP-FDE legal in the state of NJ straight from the factory?

on the Colt website they say that is weapon, Colt LE6920CMP-FDE, can be enjoyed in all 50 states. is that right from the factory mean that it is nj legal? or would i have to take it to a gunsmith to have work done to it before being nj legal

You would need to pin the stock, remove the bayonet lug, and pin/weld a muzzle brake (or comp) in place of the flash hider to make it NJ compliant.

can most firearms stores (sporting good stores) do this work or would i have to take it to an official gunsmith? i mean have it sent to a gun smith

Some firearms dealers/ stores have their own gunsmith but also some don't, you have to ask the dealer you're buying the carbine from.

If your dealer don't have a gunsmith have him send it directly to ADCO Firearms in Sylvania, OH, they're an AR15.com industry partner and they do good work, with fair prices and quick service (ADCO link below).
