Value threads are pretty pointless in times of panic. His best bet is to list it on gun broker with an 800 dollar reserve and lots and lots of pictures. There is a pretty high probability of a bidding war that goes sky high if he starts the bidding way lower than most people's asking prices. |

Before all this craziness I saw a few pre-ban 6520's in excellent condition in the $1200 range. Really these were marketed towards people in ban states. where 'pre-ban' rifles matter. In the free states, they will run a bit less. Who knows now. They are worth what the market will bear. The 6520 is on my short list of favorite rifles. |

Probably an R6521, stamped "Colt Carbine." Made right before the 1994 ban and one of the most rare Colt forearms as there were only about 600 made. They sold for as much as $4200 in Connecticut before the megaban that went in last week. Now it's worth no more than a 6520 and its preban status means zero since it can't be sold in NY or CT. Someone in MA might want it or a Colt collector. |
