I bought a new in box LE6920, when I took it apart to clean, it was hard to get the bolt, out of the bolt carrier. after cleaning, I tried to re-assemble it and the bolt won't go into the carrier. It looks as if there is a ring inside the carrier that wont let the bolt slide all the way in. Anyone else have this problem? Sorry no pics but I couldn't get any good ones yet. Of course Colt customer service is closed for the weekend.

Try a drop of lube on your gas rings if its dry. Spread it all the way around the outside. It should be a snug fit. It should go right in. Stagger the gaps in your gas rings. The carrier does have a ledge inside where the gas rings begin to seat. You will meet resistance when putting the bolt in at about 1/2 way, I'm sure it will go for you with a good push.

I'll try that again when I get home, but the area that looks like the issue is is getting the back of the bolt to fit in, the area that the firing pin slides into. I don't even think it is getting in far enough for the gas rings to cause the problem.

After doing what the previous poster suggested, try pushing the bolt inwards while turning the bolt.  Once it's in spin it back into position.

make sure the pin that holds the extractor in place hasnt come out a tiny but further on one side

some times you can push it with your hand while cleaning it or something and it sticks out just a hair and will stop one up

Thanks everyone for the help. It is just tighter than the one on the older (and cheaper) AR I had. I didn't want to force it. I can't wait to get this one out and shoot it. Now I just need more ammo.

Also don't push it straight in as you can damage the gas rings. Think of the bolt as a screw and twist it into the carrier.

When mine was new, inserting the bolt back into the BCG was a bit dicey. Now that I've shot a few thousand rounds thru it, no problem. BTW, good luck finding ammo..
