Does Colt deal with civilians directly or do you have to go through the dealer that you bought your item from?

I've only had one Colt that needed attention from CS. I called Colt (Colt's Manufacturing) directly, even though the gun in question is a Colt Defense rifle. Colt's Manufacturing & Colt Defense apparently use the same CS Dept.

Curious about this myself. High-speed me broke a trigger guard ear and sent it back( to Colt through the dealer as advised) and was curious as to how long until I get it back. They say my rifles been there a week now as of 11/19 and was told it would be another week before they even looked at it. Then Ill be playing phone tag since they said they will contact the dealer regarding the status of repair, who will then call me and so on.

of course I am sure you probably lied to them trying to get them to fix it for free for you.   Im sure they will see through any bullshit you tried to pull

SOme one should IM Brent the link to the locked thread and this one, so he doesnt get away with blaming it on colt or the dealer.
