Anybody have or heard of any issues with a canted fsb? I just picked up a new Socom barrel that has obvious cant to it. Not the crazy shit Bushmaster has been known to put out, but it's definitely gonna need a grip of windage to zero. Par for the course, or give em a call? The upper is fine. This is the second Colt barrel it's had on it, and the other fsb was straight.

Assuming everything is Colt:

The FSB isn't canted. The barrel is not aligned in the upper receiver properly. The clearance between the index pin and the index slot in the upper receiver can throw alignment off. I'd be willing to bet it is canted to the left...

Nope, canted to the right. This is the second colt barrel that I have had on the receiver. The last one was perfectly straight.

Canted to the right? Must be the fickle finger of fate...

I highly doubt the FSB was not installed properly. I'm still betting that the barrel is not aligned in the upper receiver properly.

I have heard about canted FSB for years. Every now and then it happens. I chalk it up to a mass production issue. If it bothers you at all, you can send the gun back and they should repair or replace, but expect to wait a while.

If it were me, it sounds like a good reason to shave the FSB down to a low pro and put an extended rail on it.
