I work part time at a gun store and I walked in last week and the owner was smiling at me. I gave him a weird look and he said, "You have to check this out, it's *right* up your alley." So he brings out a box and hands it to me. I look it over and see a Colt emblem. I'm thinking it's just a regular Colt carbine (which I also really like) but I get it open and my eyes went wide. I didn't even know Colt made a .308! This is one HELLUVA nice gun. I'm so jealous. This is for a customer (who said we could unbox and check out the gun, so please don't comment about that) that's friends with the owner. Pics below. I painted over most of the serial number but it's in the 100-199 range. It also came with a letter of authenticity from Colt, which I was told only come with some of the first ones made if you pay a bit extra (true?). Apologies for the poor focus/quality on some of the pictures, they are cell phone pics. :) Random comments: -Looks like a mid-length gas system? I didn't even know Colt utilized that gas system length. -Nice monolithic upper. -Some ambi controls. I wish I had played with those a bit more. -Interesting flash hider. Anyone know the model on it?          |

Very nice - the flash hider is a Smith Vortex, I also see and TROY BUIS (marked w/Colt's name), Vltor IMod stock...they sure selected some high quality components for this bad boy! When are these going to be available for purchase? I already have a Fulton Armory Titan for a long range precision rig (one heavy ass pig though ). But, now I need a more mobile and handy 308 - I've been looking at the LMT MWS, KAC, LWRC, and even the new SIG...however, I'll hold out for the Colt as it's by far my favorite
