I just ordered 3 charging handles last Thursday and got them Tuesday.  Most all of the other rifle stuff (uppers, BCGs) was out of stock.

I wish they'd sell LPKs.  Shockingly, the best price I can find is from S.A.W. for $175.  Can anyone suggest a semi-adequate replacement LPK?  (I don't want/need any Magpul stuff in it.)

Hmmm, I don't see their tab on the bottom of the page anymore either...  I wonder if they couldn't keep up with demand?

Yeah that gets my vote.

Plus I would imagine that their distributors bitched about undercutting their prices.

if that was true they would not also be selling  handgun parts, mags, shirts, coffee mugs etc etc

so i just called and asked while buying something

ran out,   the ones they had online were from contract over run.    they are currently using all they got to fill a few contracts
once that is taken care off the uppers and parts will be back online.

so that is a confirmed fact

not smart assed jumping to conclusions while having no idea or intention of checking to verify.  Sometimes   I wonder if some guys just like to try to start  rumors to hurt a company as fun or trolling

Sometimes folks have a harder time believing the truth than a rumor.  Maybe human nature who knows for sure.  Thank you, for taking the time to contact Colt.

It would be great if Colt offered 6921 and 6933 complete uppers in the on line store.  I haven't seen a 6921 upper for sale on the EE or elsewhere in ages.

Cheers

This thread is a train wreck.

Bottom line, no more rifle parts for sale.

No offense to Annie or the Colt CS folks, but they're just repeating what they're told so don't bother asking them for reasons.

Your link proves nothing and further muddles the matter.

Unfortunately you can't add that item to the shopping cart - thus it's essentially unavailable direct.  And how one even finds that item is somewhat a mystery since there's no links to rifle/carbine parts from the "Shop Online" link.  Searches of common terms used in Colt's announcement from March 2011 of parts now being available direct don't yield anything productive.

I guess I should continue to "check back often" to see if rifle/carbine parts magically reappear.  Hopefully your "confirmed fact" does indeed become confirmed and a fact.

Yes, complete train wreck as has been Colt's public relations to the mass market of AR consumers for years.  For a company that proudly proclaims (or at least hosts material directly on their site that proudly proclaims) that it's "coming back to the commercial market in a big way - and it literally is part of the corporate strategy" their current mixed messages are troubling and foolhardy.  Why bother to put parts on your site and say "check back often" if the existence of such parts for sale direct is contingent upon contract overruns?  Then having your CS staff point you to the Colt Competition Rifle site which lists 2 complete guns but no individual parts is confusing and dismissive.

I guess if I want new Colt bolt carrier groups I'll just have to buy new complete guns.  Or pay S.A.W. $225.
