I called Colt customer service today to inquire about the 2011 model O1980RG Rail Gun and they said that it doesn't come with the '100 years in service' rollmark due to the Cerakote finish. Does anybody have one or have they seen one? Is this true? If this is true, this would be the only model introduced this year that does not have some kind of commemorative marking. I have been wanting one of these for awhile now, so it is alittle disappointing to hear. |

SS model has it
Im sure the black one doesnt if colt said it didnt i would think they would know usually the website is a good place to start if you find you have a problem not listening to what people that work there tell you Features 100 Years of Service Rollmark Front & Rear Slide Serrations Colt Tactical Ambidextrous Thumb Safety White dot Carry Sights, Novak Rear Sight Enhanced Hammer with Elongated Slot Enhanced tolerances 8 + 1 round capacity / .45 ACP Single action http://www.coltsmfg.com/Catalog/ColtPistols/ColtRailGun.aspx its also not the only one to not have markings the gold cup doesnt have a100 years rollmark either, just a new grip medallion if you want a rail gun, buy one, they are excellent, i would loose any sleep over a rollmark, if it means that ,much get the 1911 WW I re issue with the 100 years mark, I tihnk that is more fitting anyway |
| Of course I checked the website. That is how I found out about it in the first place. BTW, how many times have you called a store to find out something and end up getting some mental reject that wouldn't do their job for 5 seconds to look it up and they tell you whatever BS that they can think of. This isn't the first or only place that I have asked. I have seen several vendors advertise this gun as having the rollmark. And as you have pointed out, Colt says it has it on their website. I know the SS model has it, I know the 2-tone model has it. That is why I am questioning the information I was given, because it doesn't make any sense as to why the black one doesn't have it. |
