I purchased a used 16 inch barrel a couple of months ago, sight unseen, supposed to have a few scratches, excellent bore.  Barrel was supposed to be a sp1 lt wt carbine barrel.  Received barrel with beat up taper pins, no colt markings or any other markings.

Sorry to ramble, QUESTION,  did Colt ever produce sp1 carbine barrels with no markings.

Thanks

As far as I know, all Colt barrels are marked.

All my colt barrels have been marked.  Very early barrels had a 'C' on the BOTTOM of the barrel - all other colt markings since have been on the top.

Actually early SP-1 barrels ,1964, were marked with a “W” or it could be am “M”.

Nice pics Francis - what camera are you using? Any special close up lens or lighting? Most digital cameras seem to take poor close ups.

Don, what is the twist on the 64 & 65 barrels?  Could they be 1/14 Winchester manufactured, and that would explain the "W" marking.  I know... it's a stretch, that probably is just an "M".

P.S.:  Very nice photos by the way!
