Thanks to Jeep297 for posting the link to the add, I picked it up for $1320 shipped. The serial number was in the 61,xxx range and the guy said they appear to be small pins. I just called my FFL and they are e-mailing their FFL to him so I will have it next week. So, I finally own a complete factory Colt AR. It felt a little odd being labeled a Colt fanboy, kool-aid drinker or Cultist without actually owning a 6920. So, what the hell it's only money.

I wish I could afford a 6940, too. But I'll just pay this off in a couple of months and buy one from Jim then.

| I also am finally getting a Colt AR. I've been wanting to get one since I bought my first AR. I don't know why it took me so long, after the elections I was determined to get one. I ended up building a complete LaRue rifle for my last one since the prices were outrageous for Colt's after Obama got elected. I am glad I waited until I found one at a good price. The only downside is my wife is insisting that this is for my birthday which is not until New Year's Eve. So I will have to wait a while to take it out, but I already have an Aimpoint CompM4 and magnifier to put on it when the time comes. I'm excited to finally be apart of the club. |

It absolutely warms my heart to see so many new Colts being adopted into good homes I'm taking my daughter shooting on Sunday, and I'm currently boresighting a new Comp M2 for her LE6920 that she doesn't know about yet. I can't wait to give it to her We're going to have an awfully fun weekend. I've got three boxes of clay pigeons and a box of bowling pins just waiting to be blasted into the next dimension. It is here in my dirty little mitts. But I'm so disappointed, I can't believe they let this thing through the factory. You should see my bolt face, it is rusted to hell. Hehehe. I love this thing, overall fit and finish is fine. No excessive play anywhere. There are a couple of machining marks on the magwell and a scratch or two here and there. I prefer this, I won't cry when I take it to a carbine class and scratch it up. I'm stuck at work, I'll try to take pictures tonight. ETA - Serial number 61,xxx and to my naked eye and the AR guys at the gun shop I picked it up from, they appear to be .154" pins. I'll break out the calipers tonight. |

Thanks Joe, but the ability I lack is a digital camera and now the funds to buy one.
I've been waiting for Code 4's prices to go down on the 6940 for a while now, so when I saw Jim's deal on them I just had to jump on it. Nice. Not for the fact that I can't post a pic. |
|
Now Code 4 has the 6940 for $1,600.00 link> Code 4 6940s
ETA: For some reason it won't link, so just go to Code 4's site. ETA: Fixed. |

Congrats!
Save this link to Bill Springfield Triggers. You are going to need it. I just sent mine off to him. The Colt LE6920 has like a 8-8.5 trigger pull. Ever time I took it out and pulled the trigger, it felt like the safety was on. Good otherwise http://www.triggerwork.net/ |

I don't have any creep. The trigger is just heavy. Like 8 lbs heavy. I'm not the only one on here that have sent theirs off to be worked on. I may be spolied though, I'm used to the RRA NM two stage triggers on my AR's. |
I have my 6940!!!
It is soooooo cool! One thing though... The dust cover can pop open by lightly pressing downward near the bottom by the hinge pin. I hope it doesn't start to pop itself open as it starts to wear in. Anyone elses 6940 do this with the dust cover? Other then that, so far so Cool. |

Took it to the range today, fired 120 flawless rounds. What a sweet shooting carbine! I'm very pleased with it. I fired that same exact number of rounds today through my 6940, 120 flawless rounds of Q3131! I'm also very pleased with it. ETA: I have not been able to put this carbine down for an hour since I got it. |

I just got the call from Knesek's... my 6920 will be there next week
It was $1350 shipped. They said they had a few 6940's in dark earth. How long has colt been making them in dark earth? I think they might be a little confused about that, as I'm not aware of any dark earth 6940s. |

They have it listed on their price list online? http://knesekguns.com/price.php?pricelist=7 Maybe its just for military or their Security company That's weird, I have never heard or seen of such a thing, nor did I see anything in dark earth at the SHOT Show in the Colt booth. Unless they are painting the guns themselves, or putting some other furniture on them or something? |
