That's crazy! I'm glad you got your new pony. Hard to beat a 6920.

What's crazy is the walmart people let you walk out the back with a firearm without doing a background check or any paperwork. I would understand if they "didn't know" it was a firearm, but it sounds like you told them. What was to stop you from just going home and never having a background check ran? It's a good thing that you are a good person and went back to your FFL and made everything legit!

Crazy...

Oh and congrats on the pony!

You did the right thing.  It may save your butt later.

ETA:  Ive been reading the replies in the AR section.  I'll add, Do as some others have said, dont make an issue out of it.  Be glad Wal-Mart didnt make Fedex come get it, heck or send it back for you to deal with again.  They let you have the box because you showed your ID, and they thought it was just your box.  They did nothing wrong.

Sounds like the Fed-Ex guy screwed up big time. I never have worked for them but it looks like a high stress job. I can see where a mistake might have been made. That Wal-Mart deal was really strange however. Oh and congrats on the Colt.

I hate Fedex.  I have had nothing but trouble from them.  I would call the Fedex corporate office and let them know they delivered a $1800 dollar item to the wrong place.  Then, I would probably call Walmart corporate and let them know as well - you could possibly save them some criminal charges later on, or a revocation of their FFL.

Here are some of my gripes with Fedex:

1. Whenever a package hits their depot, they don't send it out for delivery until the estimated delivery date.  If it arrives a week early- it waits a week to go on the truck.  This has happened to me on numerous occasions.

2. I tried to ship 2 rifles to a FFL out of state, and when I declared the contents, the kid at Kinkos (owned by Fedex now, and a Fedex Shipping Location) said they couldn't ship firearms, and got an attitude with me.  I asked him if that was so, and he said yes.  I asked him for the phone and called his corporate offices, and they said it should be no problem.  Then he spoke with them, and he said something about him thinking only dealers could ship firearms (which I had a copy of my FFL, and the guys I was shipping to, and provided it).   At the end of the discussion, he said he would have to clear it with his manager, and they were not there, I would have to come back the next day.  I immediately left and shipped via UPS - no questions, no problems, no hassle, on time delivery.

I will NEVER ship with Fedex again.
