i've got a scratch on the barrel of my rifle that looks deep enough that it's going to rust one day.
is there anyway to fix it? |

LOL. Don't leave it in your backyard creek all night like someone else around here Cheers I've got to hear the story on this.... http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=29&t=145905&page=19 Don't worry Shawn, we love ya! |

Thought #1: What about one of those instant bluing products? I realize Colt AR's are not blued but I'm talking about a judicious application, meaning use a toothpick or very fine brush, and even tho may not be a perfect match, if it's just a scratch who's going to notice? Plus, who knows, maybe they even have that bluing stuff in black or dark gray to better match your barrel's finish?
Thought #2: tape the barrel up except for the scratch, could be tedious! Then use the closest matching color of GunKote on the area? Does a more knowledgeable individual want to weigh in on this? |
