I have a new MT6400C  and was thinking of buying a Adams Arms piston kit.  In order to do this, the compensator has to come off.  How hard is this to do and is it something I can do myself?

Thanks

There are two pins holding the compensator in place.  Just tap them out and slide it off.

Thanks,

I am new to this and was not sure what the best way to get it off.  I would hate to do something wrong and damage it.

I did it to my MT6400 a few years ago, and today I did it to a 6700 20" rifle.  The pins were tougher to move on this one, but a few good whacks with a hammer gets it done.  Then use a plastic or rubber hammer to tap on the brake to slide it off the muzzle end.  Once it's off you'll find two grooves in your barrel.

I had ADCO thread the 6400, and the 6700 will go out next week, I think.
