I just saw an add by Larry Knesek of Knesek Guns and he has a NIB de-registered LE 6921 with a permanently attached FH for $1,500.00.  This is not bad considering I have seen people asking $800.00 - $1,000.00 for just the de-registered lower.  Of course he also has 6921 SBRs for $1,300.00 so if your class III transfer dealer does not overcharge for a transfer then the SBR plus tax stamp would just about wash.  That is all.

Cheers

Now that is great news.
I gotta put together the funds somehow.

Any idea what type of perm. F/H?

Dunno....the advertised pic looks like a regular A2 to me.  I have an extended A2 and it appears to be longer than the one pictured.  Call Larry....he's a nice guy.

Here's the add maybe someone smarter than me can make it hot for you...

He would be better off parting out these guns.

As he does it now, he gets $1500 - $100 for a permanet job = $1400

Parting it out he can get $800+ for both the upper and lower = $1600

I am looking into buying one of these de-registered 6921s, but I searched the ATF website and see nothing about being able to de-register a class 3 weapon.  If the gun is registered as an SBR and you just pin/weld an extended FS onto the barrel, that doesn't change the status of the registered receiver.  Is this possible and legit to do?  Thanks for any info.

Yes, I have done it my self (SWG/OLY SBR).

They don't remove it from the registery, they just note that it is now a Title-1 weapon again.

You send the ATF a letter stating that SBR S/N xxxxxxx has been restored to its previous configuration and now has a barrel greater than or equal to 16". Attach a copy of your Form 1. I had mine noterized.

Wait until they send back a confirmation letter and keep it with your records.

Then you can treat it like any other Title-1 weapon - it is no longer an SBR - no more short barrels on it.

You lose your $200.

Took a year and a call to the division head of the NFA branch to get mine done. This was when the NFA division was based in DC.
