New 6721 Question > Colt

I picked up a new 6721, still factory sealed. Has anyone else noticed the ugly ass safety selector on the new rifles? This one is off of a 2006 production rifle. Anyone else get one of these.

I saw that selector used last year.

someone posted a photo of it on their new Colt, but others purchased during the same timeframe had the traditional version.

Does your new Colt have a 6 position stock, as some have suggested?

The stock tube is the standard 4 position.

The nicest comment I can muster about that selector is that it looks ghey and does not live up to my vision of Colt. Hopefully it works better than it looks. I wonder why the change in such standard parts? I hope my inbound 6920 has a heteroselector on it.

eta: Congrats on a fine new rifle. Lucky dog.

Nice AR. I don't think the new 6920's have that different fire selector. I have seen a couple that were just received and they were the standard, not that crazy looking thing. But anyways if that is the only bad thing about the rifle consider yourself lucky.

My 6920 came with that morphadite selector, and I changed it out with a older Factory Colt selector

What about the FSB is it F marked?

I thought rifle barrels did NOT have M4 extended feed ramps. I thought it was a carbine thing.

I received my 6721 yesterday- a welcome addition to my 6520 ans 6920. The fit and finish on the Tac 6721 is the best out of all three of my colts. Here is the skinny on the features:
LE Markings
M4 feed ramp and barrel, extension
H Buffer
4 Pos stock
"M4" and T-marked Diemaco Upper
Colt Bolt (full circle carrier)
It has the new safety selector as shown above.
Range report later this week

Edit to add it came with an F front sight base

The new selector appears to be structurally stronger than the old one since it has more steel all the way up to the pivot point of the selector. However, I am not aware of any breakage problems with the old selector.

I recently aquired a 6721 last week and it has the funky up grade sellector switch. Barrel made on 09/06, F marked FSB, Colt marked BC and M4 marked upper receiver with RAS rail t markings and H buffer included.

The 6721 came in fantastic jet black finish and belive its better that my 6920 overall. I replaced the handgards with Colt M4 style and its a keeper. I found that the 6721 sells for about 150.00 less than the 6920 in this area and is a overall better deal for the money.

Yeah, my 2007 6520 has one to. Someone should have the tail kicked for that ugly piece of crap. Any of you guys know where I can get a Colt made NORMAL safety selector? Please IM me.
