| Guys: I looked at a friends, pinned Colt stock, and it looks like two roll pins hold it in position. After the AW sunset, will this stock work like a normal collapsible by removing the roll pins? If not.....why? Inquiring minds want to know. I'm about ready to buy a 6400 for myself, and thanks. |

Nope... the buffer tube runs the whole length of the stock. You'd have to unpin the stock, and cut the tube to the desired length (it is solid from the butt end to about 4 inches in). You would still need to drill new pin holes if you want to fix it in a shorter position. If you want it to adjust like a preban, wait until Sept 14th, and put a real collapsible stock on for $70 or so and whole lot less work. Unless you are in NY like me, where we are still screwed on September 14th. |
No, what would be a spring loaded pin that would allow the stock to lock and unlock in the 6 holes on the bottom of the collapsible's buffer tube, is a allen head cap screw threaded into the bottom of the buffer tube. I'm not aware of anyone making a shorter replacement tube for this particular stock. With so many other affordable options like the Ace ARFXwww.riflestocks.com/ar15.html, or Rock River's Entry Buttstockwww.rockriverarms.com/item-detail.cfm?ID=AR0074TK&storeid=1&image=stckentr.gif&CFID=284303&CFTOKEN=47472082&jsessionid=06302560581076117217225, it couldn't be very cost effective for either manufacturers or consumers to be marketable. |
