I have a Colt Gov't Carbine 6520 w/ the following characteristics:
- Raised fence
- Small trigger
- No sear block (from factory)
- Large pivot pin

The rifle is gray, not black, and I want to have the lower (and possibly the upper as well) re-anodized COLT BLACK, and use the lower for an M4 project, with KAC 2 stage, and using an adapter pin for the .250 M4 upper.

This is my only AR, and it is going to be a functional piece, not a safe queen (don't even have a safe!), but I gotta ask if you all feel this is a senseless butchering? Its present state is 95% w/ probably 600-800 rounds.

I was going to sell this and buy a 6520 NIB w/ small pivot and large trigger & Sear block, for more money...but I ran out of funds, and this one really has grown a lot on me, in the few weeks I've owned it.

ch11x,

It's your rifle so you can do what you want but if it was mine I'd leave it as is and shoot the hell out of it.  The only thing I would change is the upper.  Buy a Daniel Defense large hole flat top and replace your A2 upper and you'll be good to go!  There is no reason to buy an M4 barrel unless you just like the looks but your rifle is original and classic...keep it that way.

Also, I'm not a fan of the large pin to small pin adapters.  They suck.  Oh, keep the gray finish.

If you still decide to sell it let me know

M4arc,   Thanks for the advice

I might have it re-anodized Colt Gray instead of black, and I'll have to research the DD large hole uppers.

Will let you know if I think of selling again
