Obtained a SP1 rifle that owner had changed to A2 HBAR. Originally it was a lightweigh 16" (had colt facroy letter saying so) when shipped in 1983.

What twist rate was the 16" SP1s in 1983?  Would it have been an A1 or A2 receiver?
TIA

I think if the carbine was in its original configuration the factory letter would add a little bit to the value if sold to a collector.  Since your upper had been replaced I dont think the letter adds much if anything to it.  An original SP1 carbine would bring around $1500 +/-, an SP1 rifle is around $1200.  Not sure how to price yours since its neither.
