I removed a worn disconnector from an SP-1 and need to replace it. The problem is, you can't just replace it with a "conventional" disconnector. It has to be a Colt-made one. Example below: Disconnector on Left is a conventional one, while the one on the right is the Colt-made disconnector. The question is, where do I find such a beast? TIA GS |

There are lots of them floating around, as most guys pulled them out. They are considered "inferior". I don't know why the newer style one won't work for you, especially if your trigger is cut to accept the spring in either location. Just move the spring back, and drop in the newer style disconnect. If this doesn't work, email me, and I'll get you one cheap. |

Yeah, the thing is, the spring will only work in it's original position (recess cut out in trigger to accommodate the spring). I did already try that trick, but the geometry of it all prevented me from doing so. Bummer, because that would certainly have been easier. |

From the looks of it though, the pic is that of the wrong disconnector. www.colt.com/colt/html/a4c15_firecontrol.html |
