| Has anyone else ever made an order to Colt? How was their customer service for you? A few of us from my department got together and ordered 175 rifles from Colt. These rifles are ordered for us to carry while on patrol. A delivery date was promised from February. Here it is tomorrow is the first day of May and still no rifles. Calls from the distributor to Colt and from us to Colt have only resulted in answers like “They’ll be there next week.” “They’ll be here in two weeks.” We are kind of in a bind because due to our Department regulations will only allow is to carry a specific model of Colt rifle. I guess what I’m asking is Colt’s response always this poor? Is an order of 175 rifles not big enough for them to really care? |
| Colt is concentrating on LEO and military sales so I would think that an order of 175 rifles would be a priority. Sounds like a problem with the distributer. Now, if they are non LEO rifles you might just have to wait. BTW, I also think BM is also back ordered on their LEO rifles. |

The rifles are for LEO use. However, they are just your typical 6601C rifles. The distributor has been very, very cooperative with us. He was calling Colt and probably being a pain in the posterior to them, and keeping us up to date with what was going on. I think this would be easier to take if Colt would have just given us a more realistic delivery date. They delivered the magazines but no rifles. |

I had a women rep. at Colt tell me to Go F. Myself in regard to a problem I had back in 98'. Two weeks later I sold all my Colt firearms some of which I lost money on. I will never buy a Colt anything again, even if it is only a "copy". Customer service still means something. JerrY |

The rifles that we are permitted to carry on patrol is the 6601 with a muzzle brake. We did not have the option of ordering a LEO model. I guess that is just one of department’s ways of staying politically correct and to avoid any hassle when a guy retires, what to do with his LEO Only rifle. hecked Maybe I’m just irritable because I want to replace my 870 with the AR and I don’t feel like going through the hassle of signing out one of the departments AR’s. |

Torakan, All of our Colts have factory muzzle brakes/compensators. Kind of a big bulbous loud thing at the end of the barrel. Although I am amazed that after going through the NRA’s Patrol Rifle Instructors course you learn to just ignore the muzzle blast. I’m pretty sure it would still be very loud touching off a round in a building with no hearing protection! |
Your reaction was nonsensical. |
What you call nonsensical, I call principle. I don't mind if you guys like and buy colt. That was not my point.I wasn't knocking the Colt product either. My point was don't expect miracles from Colt customer service. The incident with me happened in 98', maybe they have changed, maybe it was one stupid employee. I don't really care at this point. I made the decision then, that I wanted nothing to do with Colt, and selling off the colt stuff was to me was a matter of principles. JerrY |
That is like having an issue with Chevy customer service and selling my Impala SS and Corvette without regard to all of the good things that come with owning a Chevy. |
OH BOY !!! does this mean we won't see your ass in the Bushmaster forum again ?!?! get bent |

Spectre, Looks like ESTONER at it again. He's a type of person who hates everybody’s point of view including his own. EVERYBODY - JUST IGNORE ESTONER AND HE MIGHT GO AWAY. HE'S JUST A FLAMER. I don't post much on the boards but I read enough to know ESTONER likes going from one thread to another trying to create problems. Unfortunately, their people like this in the world we have to live with. I will apologize for his behavior. |

I have never ordered a rifle directly from the factory but I have spoken to a gentleman who handles law enforcement customer service. He was very courteous and informative and even returned my calls a couple of times. Due to this pleasant experience - and having a couple of annoying experiences with Bushmaster personnel - I will definitely be purchasing Colt, as will the rest of my department. I was so pissed off after a couple of dealings with Bushmaster that I felt like driving my phone through my desk. I feel that BM is the one that has lost touch with the customer and probably feel they are invincible. Not good. I have heard this before from a friend of mine that has an FFL and who was simply making a inquiry, only to be dealt with rudely. Other accounts of BM's inadequacies I have read in this forum. ***A note on DPMS' dealings; they were just as good as Colt and if it weren't for the lack of chroming on specific parts, I would have definitely bought a DPMS M-4 fact direct for a great price. |

A few years ago I spoke to Bushmaster's LE representative and he almost acted like I was wasting his time since I was just an individual officer and not the Department. They wanted nothing to do with a direct sale and told me to go talk to a distributor, in a not too friendly attitude. Colt on the other hand has been very friendly and helpful no matter what. They even returned a call to me recently when the LE rep wasnt in. Also, my Department doesnt allow any rifle except Colt. |
