Thank you for your feedback on the color of the scopes. There are no plans that I'm aware of to offer it in a different color but feel free to have the scope professionally-painted black if you would like. It will not void the warranty and you won't hurt our feelings! Thanks again and please let me know if you have further questions. I would be happy to help. |

Folks have been asking forever, because, well, because 98% of ARs are black, but Vortex seems to prefer to have that line in a distinctive color. It's unfortunate because I know folks who have decided to buy something else for this reason alone. |

Thats unfortunate because if I planned on matched color set up. Now if I want to do that I have an additional cost I have to consider and this most likely will be a deciding factor on not getting the scope. The scope is not currently even in a commonly used non black color such as FDE or something along that lines that could be easily worked with.

Its really unfortunate that people let the color of this scope keep them away. I have been running this scope in 3 gun matches the past 2 years and it has never failed to perform and is one of the best 1-6 scopes out there and the best at its price point. I would run it if it were pink as I want the performance more than the looks but there is always cerakote if the color doesn't fit your scheme.

Kind of like Canon and their white professional lenses. It makes them easy to identify on the side lines of sporting events. |

I own the 70-200 f2.8L IS II and it stands out like a MFer when I am using it. I bought it because it smokes everything else in that range, but I don't like the whole "look at me and my professional lens" thing the white color conveys. I'd much rather be able to blend in and not broadcast what I am using. |

This scope is of such great value, they could have painted it purple and it would of been worth it for me to buy it and paint it.
Personally I like the color. I just wish it was easier to find the exact color elsewhere. If we were to want to match other parts of our gun what color cerakote would y'all recommend. I don't understand having a rifle one solid color. Unless you're going for a clone build and this scope doesn't work in any of those builds. Even in all black it makes it stand out like a sore thumb. All my rifles are a mixture of colors, mostly a mixture of OD Green and black, This color works well with breaking up the pattern of the rifle without an expensive paint job. |

Will krylon void the warranty? I could get my mo-tard on and hit a $1400 scope with $5 spray paint lol. It was a huge debate with my saiga ak and i ended up doing good considering me art skills suck pretty bad.
But then again i dont care about matching up my gun. Only thing that bothers me is i havent slayin any swine yet. |
