I bought this scope  and was wondering if anyone used different covers than the bikini that it comes with? They look like the connecting part will break at any moment.  How are they supposed to sit on the RDS when mounted?  I see a bump out on one side, just curious as I may be doing harm already.

Thoughts?

Hey thanks for the question- yeah sometimes they can be tricky but customer care can get you flip caps for the SPARC- or Butler Creek size 04 for both lenses makes a good alternative. Thanks and make sure to call sales if you have further questions at 800-426-0048 ext. 5

I have a dozen of the original SPARCs on my builds, and have the size 04 Butler covers on all mine. I use the objective covers on both ends. I also take a razor blade and cut ~1/4" off each cover, even with the hinges. Makes it's slide on a little more securely. I also mount mine upside down so they flip down instead of up, prevents most snagging.

Here's a pic of one with the caps flipped down:

I'll go get a pic of the before/after trim work and add it here.

Here you go:

You really only need to trim one on each SPARC due to design, but I did both just to shorten it up a little.

...and just a note. The CR2354 batteries are readily available on eBay, so I've never found it to be an issue.
