I know Vortex makes a line of tripods.  Taking a look, they appear to be quality designs just like the rest of the Vortex lineup.  Would it be possible to use a Vortex tripod as a weapon platform?  I know there is another major brand that utilizes a "ball head" that an adapter is made for.

What I'm saying is, I'd like to buy a Vortex tripod that I could use a qd type mount that would allow me to attach my rifle to the tripod for steady position type shooting.

This is absolutely possible with any of our tripods. The larger ones might be less shaky, but this pairing is accomplished by purchasing a picatinny rail-to-tripod adapter. The quick release plate on the tripod would mount to the rail-to-tripod adapter. Then, you would need to have a picatinny rail on the bottom of the rifle. The adapter would then mount to this rail, allowing you to qucikly attach and detach the rifle to the tripod.

Great news! I'm becoming a big Vortex fan. I hope y'all have a smaller Razor HD coming at shot. I also hope the 2.5-10x32 FFP rumor is true!!
