After having my strikefire die during an outing a few months ago I removed and shelved it in favor of  the simple life of iron sights. Figured it was a dead battery and no big deal.

Fast forward to today,  my sons birthday.  Having bought him an AR, he needs a rear sight or optic in order to go try it out.  After mounting the strikefire we head out and get a new battery on our way out of town.

No luck,  strikefire is still dead.  Double checked everything and reread instructions.  Still no luck.

Any thing I could be missing ?  I have an email into their service dept, and expect good results after reading all the positive service comments.  Just don't want to be the idiot that missed something simple.

It's not on the NV setting,  I checked that first after having a friend try to return a dead strikefire only to have the guy at the counter show him the NV switch was on.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your Strikefire. The NV switch was the first thing that came to mind but if you looked that part over already, I am not sure what happened. Sounds like you have already given our sevice team a heads-up. You're in good hands, but feel free to place a call sometime today if you're freed up. That might be even faster. I'm sure we can work out a good solution for you. Thank you.

Thanks to Vortex for fixing my strikefire.  Failure turned out to be bad solder connection at battery.  Was fixed and returned.    There was a small issue in getting it back to me which vortex covered with prompt service and a free ball cap.

I'm having the exact same problem.  I contacted Vortex a few months ago, but between moving, a job promotion, etc, never got around to sending it in.  Hoping to finally get it in the mailbox soon and get the optic back on my rifle.  I've spoken a lot of good words about Vortex over the past 2 or 3 years, it goes without saying that good words arent worth a hoot with a non-functioning optic, lol.  So, hopefully Mr. Mailman will be seeing a box in outgoing sometime soon.

soooooooooo

Mine should be at the vortex facility at this point.  I mailed it last Thursday at usps.  Looking forward to getting it back and having some fun again.  I will say though, its been fun relying on the ol' iron sights for a while.

I just want a ball cap too. My strikefires are great so I have no good excuse for one.
