I bought one of the kill flash flip caps, a month or so ago, as my strikefire is one of the older ones that is not threaded on the front. I like the design, and how it works, but it will not stay put for the life of me, it wants to slide off, when I flip the cap open, it doesn't really have a tight enough fit..... I have thought about taking a black rubber band or something to put around it, to hold it tighter. I thought I check here, and see if anyone has one, and if they have the same problem....
Are these produced by another company?? Mine is marked bushwacker. I bought it from Midway, if that helps. |

They are made by Bushwacker for us. Maybe a wrap or two of electrical tape around the objective before you put the cap on would help? I'll look into it some more tomorrow when I get back into the office and can look at one. -Sam |

I have thought about some double sided tape..... Actually, I think if they made the rubber a few sizes smaller, where you would have to stretch to fit, it may fit tighter..... also, I noticed the factory flip caps have a ridge inside the rubber that in-gauges in the groove on the strikefire bell, maybe a idea?
Sam, thanks for looking into it, I've been meaning to ask for a little while, just haven't gotten around to it. Update: Sam tried the electrical tape trick, put that sucker on and it fits snug as ever!! I'm guessing maybe the rubber in the cap doesn't like the matte finish on the scope?? |

Ok, I tried the flip cap ARD on one of the original StrikeFires and I didn't have any problem. It seemed like a pretty tight fit to me. It could be that either the rubber is slightly out of spec, or the OD of the objective is slightly out of spec. I don't know.
However, unless it is WAY out of spec I would think that just wrapping some electrical tape around the OD of the objective before putting on the flip cap ARD should give it enough thickness to make a tight fit. If that doesn't work try giving our CS a call. It might be easier to trouble shoot over the phone and if something isn't working we can take a look at them and see if something needs to be replaced. The number is 1-800-426-0048. Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else. Thanks! -Sam |

Maybe I lucked out and got the weird one Seemed like maybe the rubber didn't like to grip the finish of the strikefire or what, but the electrical tape fixed it right up. I'm going to let it run, since it seemed to solve it, but if I have any problems, I'll give you guys a call.
