Hi Sam,
I just received my strikefire today along with the Kill Flash. The killFlash/ARD does not fit into the exit end of the scop. I have tried and tried to get this thing to thread on, but fail. It seems to be quite a bit smaller than the scope barrel itself. It is slopping in there, and small enough not to fit over the retaiing ring holding the glass element into the barrel. The threads on the scope are between that retaining ring and the barrel, and the ARD simply will not pick up the threads in the scope. Am I missing something? Thank you, StagPower |

Thank you, StagPower When did you buy your StrikeFire? Earlier this year we added threading to the objective end so that the Killflash could thread in. If you have an earlier model we have a different ARD that is built into a flip cap. It replaces the existing flip cap. I'm thinking that you probably need that Killflash instead of the thread in one. If that's the case you can just give us a call and we'll swap the killflash out for you. 1-800-426-0048. -Sam |

Thank you for your quick reply.
I just purchased it Friday through the Vortex web site. It actually was shipped from cameraland in NY. I just called cameraland to ask how long the unit sat on the shelf. He said that it is no more than two months old and they just started getting the kill flash in within the last month. Thanks again. StagPower |

StagPower That's interesting. Is there any chance you can take a picture of the front of the scope? I'd like to see what it looks like. If it's that new there should be sufficient threading for the thread in ARD. Sorry for the trouble, but we'll get it worked out. Worst case, if for some reason there is something wrong with the ARD or scope, we'll swap it out for you. -Sam |

I'll see what I can do. All I have right now is a camera phone. BTW- If it makes a difference I would rather have the threaded ARD if possible. StagPower I'm thinking it might be easiest to just call and talk to our CS on the phone about it. 1-800-426-0048. That might be easier than typing back and forth on the forum. Let me know if I can do anything else. -Sam |
