I guess it was the foliage green that's delaying mine then. I ordered the same 12" barrel and straight trigger back mid-november. |

Just ordered my first Larue!!! Not in any super hurry for it so I don't mind the wait.
16" 7.62 with 13" handguard, OD furniture, 2 extra mags, and billet lower |
|
|
Looks like the "FREE ASSEMBLY" option is now gone...
But, that's okay. I ordered the 18inch Grendel un-assembled today (Jan 22, 2021), with the intention of transplanting a 6 ARC Faxon barrel into it.... Of course, now that I've done that, about a week after it ships, Mark will come out with HIS OWN 6 ARC UUR.... Thank me now everyone!!!!! |

Quoted: Definitely check now. They sent my replacements the CS person personally pulled out of the ar-10 bin and, you guessed it, they were at-15. Waiting for the ar-10 parts. View Quote So I checked. 1 big block pivot pin. 1 small block take down pin and bolt catch. Not sure about any of the springs since I don’t know much about build big block lowers. |

I did test fit the springs and they all seamed long enough. Detects were the same. One of the detents comes in from the bottom and has a Allen head to retain it vs depending on the buffer tube plate. Mine had a long roll pin and a short roll pin. Couldn’t figure out why the long pin so I used the short for the bolt release. |

I hope choosing foliage furniture isn't getting my 12" 5.56 delayed

Maybe I'm dumb, and missed the paperwork for this....
But in my AR10 LPK for my .308 UU, there was a very small set screw that was left over that I was clueless as to its purpose. Only after looking over the lower did I notice that the hole drilled for the rear takedown pin spring was tapped, and that small set screw makes that spring captive. Older SR15s use an identical design, but the takedown pin spring just sits on the lip of the grip and that provides adequate tension on the pin. Great design by LaRue, it's just so small it's easy to overlook. |
|
Whynotdev8, a lot of higher end ar10 and ar15 lowers do that now. Larue wasn't the first but glad they added it
|
|

woohoo UU arrived and so far seems like everything showed up fine. time to put it all together!

Order number 922923. 5.56 16 inch stealth barrel, black, I assembled. Placed today ????Well like literally a minute ago.
However just so you all know the 6 month wait on my 7.62 upper was well worth it, as soon as the glass comes in I’ll post pics and reviews |

I don’t want my 6.5 CM UU to show up until ammo is available. I scored a never fired 6.5 Grendel UU last week, but can’t find ammo anywhere, and it’s pure torture. No way am I paying those Gunbroker prices. $100 a box?! If anyone wants to sell me a box or two for a reasonable price (over normal cost is fine just not 5X) I’d appreciate it. Or even if you have some brass. Anyways, Mark can hold on to my 6.5 CM until this shortage is over.

Quoted: The next thing I would love to see is a threaded bolt release pin. My Wilson and Aero lowers have that and it is nice! View Quote That is nice, and I'm sure it makes assembling a lower that much easier. I always get heartburn when it comes time to do the roll pin for the bolt catch. I mummify my receivers in painters tape. I just wonder if it's one or those things where, once the roll pin is installed, it's more secure than a bolt, which have the propensity to loosen over time. |
|
Quoted: The next thing I would love to see is a threaded bolt release pin. My Wilson and Aero lowers have that and it is nice! View Quote Agreed. Being that LaRue is a premium manufacturer I’m surprised they haven’t done that yet. I can’t imagine it would be too hard to program in to the machine process but my knowledge on that is 0. |

Since LT does .gov sales and applies for contracts, it probably makes since to keep it that way. Adding unique small parts to the supply chain system can impact a selection process. |

There’s a lot of complaints about the UU kits but for real they are the best deal going right now. Am I wrong?

I love my LaRue stuff but that little tidbit has always kind of bugged me. Now that you bring that up though I get it, and am no longer bugged. |

Well shit. You guys probably won't hear this often, but I was kind of hoping there would be a 4 month wait or so on recently placed UU.
My 12" UU just shipped. Like weeks after the order, not months. Hopefully the other UU aren't as quick to be finished. I have not been nice at all to my CC. |

On the larue website, under my order, its showing "Status: Stealth Upper - GTG". Anybody know what that means. Does it mean its getting close? |
