When we all go the the barter system, maybe Mark will take a shoulder-mount elk in trade.

Siete is the number of years he is going to tease us before it is released.
But, on a serious note, it is hard to release a new product when you can’t get ahead of existing orders. Just glad to see he is taking his time and not just tossing it out to get sales. We are all expecting something exceptional- and I am confident that is what we will get. An update would be nice. |

Quoted: Just spoke with my taxidermist. I drew the #1 archery tag in OR. A elk shoulder mount starts at $1,450! Ouch! That’s Siete money! View Quote I'm heading out to ID third week in Sept for archery elk. When's the rut usually for you guys - last week of Sept and into Oct? Mark's just waiting for the COVID mask movement to end, so he can see all the smiling boy's and girl's faces when the Siete makes it into the customer's hands. Sorry I got the sidetracked from the Siete post. |

This year I am heading out on the 7th and expect the peak of activity, when the bulls are scoping each other out, around the 14th. Rut should be in full swing by the 21st. I am going to try to tag out earlier so I can get back to work. Back on topic: I just hope Mark doesn’t release the Siete during archery season. |

I forget - we are on year 6 already, right? Damn, only year 5 then.
2015 Shot show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjUBmgRmrkU 2014 Shot show - all I found was a post saying no new rifles... |

COVID really ruined everything this year. There's no way the Siete delay is for any reason but COVID.

Hello Mark LaRue, Orders #838434 + #802993 ='s a damn good time while I wait for my Siete. This message approved by Mrs. clam.

Starting to give up hope for this years hunting season... Who knows, maybe 6mm ARC will be popular enough to get another LaRue in it before the Siete is released.
Bump to get this back to the first page of my subscriptions... |

just going to throw this out there .
IF this ever comes to market . do you realy think LaRue will support it down the road? I mean I am not the only tOBR owner waiting on my extra barrles.. |

View Quote I lost all hope for it in March. And yeah, I’d still love some alternative calibers for the tOBR. I’ve got a .260 from the FDE add on but I’m not sure I’ll stick with .260 much longer since 6.5C seems to be available at every Walmart and country hardware store. |

Quoted: I lost all hope for it in March. View Quote Was there ever anything released by the mothership on why it seemed to vanish? It just seems odd. Tooling was setup, parts were being made, then 5 rifles were shipped and it disappeared. Of the 5, I’ve only heard of the 1 that was being posted here by a “ghost” account. It’s almost as if there was a patent/legal reason why these never hit the market. Innovation is always moving forward. I just can’t see designing something, allowing competitors to see it after investing R&D dollars, only to delay 2-3years after others have had a chance to develop upon and beyond the initial offering. |

I really wanted to want the Siete. That "stock" is the ugliest fucking thing I've ever seen a manufacturer put on a gun. If a barreled action is available, I'm in. But that abortion has no home in my safe.
|
|
well from a business prospective I completely understand waiting untill the backlog cleared.
I would be using my CNC machine time to sell things that where back ordered and selling like hot cakes now.. Next question is, then when will the gun market slow down? next jan or Feb IF trump wins. What if uncle Joe wins? Then the ar15 market will not slow down untill they are ban ? lol |

But that abortion has no home in my safe. View Quote Yeah I plan on going the barreled action route myself. I'd always loved the M24 SWS since I was a kid so I plan on dropping a Siete action into one of HS Percision's M24 stocks. Might not be the most modern thing in the world but its an aesthetic thing. |

In January, LaRue said they'd have ONE HUNDRED of these ready to ship by the end of February. There was no Covid, no "Election," and no Riots then. They never delivered. All they did was drop the ball. |
|
Something happened that slowed down the siete, its not like LT decided to just not make the rifle anymore. We all know whats happening in the world, but we do not know what is happening behind the doors at LT.

I gave up and moved on. I'm not saying I won't buy one when/if they eventually become available, but I've moved on for now. Same with the BuildAR program - it was a good run.
I have more LaRue stuff than me and my kids will ever be able to wear out, so I'm really not too worried about what they bring to market and when, how long their backlog or hold times are, etc. Life is too short to worry about that kind of stuff. |

Still holding my gift cards for a Siete barreled action in 300 PRC.

The original idea was a good one, and would have likely been a good seller if he had just stuck with it. Unfortunately the action itself is not attractive. It's bulky and not elegant. On a tactical rig it doesn't matter much, but the few pics I've seen in a wood stock were cringeworthy. |

I’m still here and still want one. “We will sell no wine before it’s time”
What time is it? |

Its the same size as every other R700 based action. |

Quoted: Yup. Looks like a basic 700 action, just with the safety on the shroud and a cut along the bolt for the LaRue logo. View Quote Personally I love the basic simple styling. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, my favorite bolt gun look was always the M24. I think all these "tactical" actions and chassis systems are ugly as sin with no class |

Just as a joke, but anyone see the Remington 700 pistol in this months American Rifleman - looks like they are making a knockoff of Marks idea.
- If your a pessimist, it is easy to feel that the days of buying ar15's are numbered - especially in liberal states. It is a prudent business decision to focus on that market while it is still alive rather than focus on the backup plan. I don't blame Mark for anything other than being a businessman. He has a backup plan, but is prudent to cash in on the ar15 market for as long as he can sell them faster than he can make them. |

(At least I agree with his statement, haha) It takes, figuratively speaking, just above a functional idiot to realize ML must see this exact scenario. I don’t have a Masters in Business, but even I understand the Siete delay. If things go “south” in November, ML will have plenty of time to dedicate to a bolt gun. Until then, I’d be selling as many UU’s as I possibly could. Which, it appears is exactly what ML is doing. |
|
I'm over it. I was interested in the Siete but if I were in Marks shoes, I'd ride this AR wave as long as the market allows. There is simply more money to be made with machines cranking out triggers, rails, lowers, barrels, and mounts.
I don't blame him. When AR's and full semi-autos get banned, then we can switch our attention to bolt actions and Fudd guns. |
|
what i cannot really believe is none of the 5 shipped "kits" have hit gunbroker or gotten into the hands of a real shooter to post a review. that being said im not really a bolt gun guy but im sure i will pick one up to try it out once they start shipping.
waiting on LT to pull the trigger pete |
|
Ok, might as well make some jokes. Noticed an expensive lever gun mentioned in GD today. If the semi market ever goes south, wonder if Mark will start CNC'ing some lever guns for us as well. There is a shortage of magnum caliber lever guns...
