What’s the best Ammo you guys are seeing the best groups with? Just got my upper so it’ll still be a bit but just curious. Picked up some 140 grain Hornady match 6.5s to try out but wanted to know if anyone has been able to get some good groups with factory ammo |

I’d like to try to improve on it. Not that I will. I haven’t been able to get back to the range with it since then. Work and bad weather got in the way and now the range I had access to is down for service. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

New Member, long time shooter.
6.5CM UUK w/ lower on order. A few questions directed to ML for the benefit of everyone doing their own assembly, In case I missed it during my search. What if any thread locking compound do you recommend on the barrel nut and the muzzle brake? Torque specs for the gas block set screws? Torque specs for the "hand guard"? Torque specs for the buffer tube? I plan on using a Magpul PRS Gen3, Brad and Dan got me squared away and and as has been posted before, a rifle length extension tube and spacer are available from LaRue Tactical although they aren't listed on their website. The cost was $50. + S&H I've used several mounts and assorted parts from LaRue, I've been very pleased with both the quality of their products and the customer service. Looking forward to getting this all together and seeing how it shoots. Thanks! |

Most use a little anti-seize on the barrel nut. Lots of different opinions on the muzzle device. I use a little red loc-tite. |

I have seen 40 ft/lbs in various places and it sounds about right. I kinda figured the hand guard would not be super critical. Not sure about the Red loctite as red usually requires heat to remove it, and there is potential for plenty of heat generated. I've seen Rock Set and green Loctite mentioned elsewhere and that seems logical, although I've nto used Rock Set myself. I was trying to avoid tying up LaRue's phone line so they can concentrate on getting my parts out the door :)

Upper is almost done. Fingers crossed the lower comes before I head overseas for a year. Would like to get a couple rounds out of the tube.

Just listed my LaRue for sale. With my new 6.5cm I just don't see myself shooting it.

How did you guys find the build? Was it on par with an AR15 in difficultly (which it seems most people can do), or was it more similar to the standard AR10 build (requiring vast expertise and a mental link with the rifle)?

Wonder if there are any chances of a PredatOBR barrel cartridge in 6.5CM. Would it fit inside of the stealth 2.0 handguard?

Anyone have a rail height over bore for the UU big boy uppers?

I was finally able to pick up my lower this last Sunday. Got the lower put together last night. Haven't shot it yet but so far love this rifle.

Has anyone had any issues with Prime 6.5cm ammo in their UU? I've been getting blown primers, and heavy ejector dents in the brass. Is it too spicy for gas guns?
|
|
|
|
Both. I've been running an SDN-6 and a an Omega, along with a SLR adjustable gas block. Even with the gas dialed off, the Prime Ammo still shows overpressure issues. I haven't had any issues (except for some minor ejector swipes) with the Federal 130 bergers, or the Hornady 140 elds.

Just bringing this question back up as another interested party. I would also be very curious if there is a plan for a PredatorOBR 6.5 CM in the near future? Best, Matt. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Wonder if there are any chances of a PredatOBR barrel cartridge in 6.5CM. Personally I would love to have a 6.5 with a switch block.. I picked up a UU 6.5 barrel on the EE for my Tober.. it seemed over gassed with 140gr eld the gem tech can I was running but not as bad as the .260 was with the same can and 130gr eld I just got my larue can a few days ago.. have not had time to shoot and evaluate it.. but everyone says it is better.. |

Blaster7R,
Disappointing news, however, I greatly appreciate you clearing that up... Best Regards, Matt. |

What mags are you guys having success with? I'm looking at some Bushmaster AR10 DPMS/SR25 type mags locally but I'm not sure if I'm looking at reliable mag or a problem in the making. Can anyone here advise?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but anyone know when the M-LOK version of the UU 6.5cm will be available? That's the only reason I've held off buying one so far...

Anybody know off hand if the metal larue mags that come with the 6.5CM's will also work reliably with .308 ammo in a TOBR?

Just registered, bought my first Larue March 5th, got the UU Kit in 6.5 Creedmoor. The upper came in a week or two, super quick, the lower just came Thursday. I'm in Cedar Park, TX right next to Leander, LT HQ, so shipping was quick, HA!
I assembled and everything was absolute badness, perfect, exactly what I expect from Larue (been around them, finally have my own). I have a Surefire Socom 7.62 and they just came out with the 6.5 adapter/brake , that went on with the Rocksett that comes with the brake. Then put on a Nightforce ATACR 5-25x, and got the Hornady 140g Match ammo. Got to hit the Ranch near Mason and knocked out the sight in and some fun, I'll switch to the phone and try to post the pics. Bore site at 25 was close, like 3 MOA off, then had an awesome group, adjusted twice and was in the center. Got on a plate at 500, have a pic in the center dot at 500, the hammered the plate at 750 and 1,000 first afternoon. Was more having fun , and running a snake down with some solvent after the first 15. Had three in the air quick.....then smiled at my buddy and swchack, swchack, swchack, fun having 3 in the air heading down range to 750 and hearing them hammer away. Love it, and hopefully next couple weeks will hit Best of the West Shooting Range and really focus on where this is hitting with this ammo, and dial it in super tight. Freaking awesome rig, and I love that my Socom will jump over and run on another rifle. |

Sorry, 1st Time poster and probably an idiot. I’ll try and figure out how to fix it. Headed to a college baseball Suoer Regional game, but I’ll Try and figure out after.

I'll do that Jay. Trying to get pics to work, but it may be that I've only posted 3 times so far (this makes 4) and they need to approve the pics or something. I shot 60 rounds (well 56, my buddy shot 4) so 3 full boxes of Hornady 140 Grain Match ELD and I couldn't tell I had shot a single shot at the end of the day. No overpressure at all (can helps that for sure) but it shoots freaking awesome.
My .300 Win Mag Savage drives tacks, but 60 rounds even with a brake and a heavy gun, I know I've been shooting for sure. I was easily as accurate with this as just about any gun I've shouldered. It's a LOT of fun when you punch a hole, make an adjustment, and the glass is exact and the gun is exact, and it does exactly what you want, and you can shoot boxes of ammo and not need a break at all. I didn't throw any rounds, I meant to hit each hole I punched on these targets, they were the somewhat serious to get it zero'd. If the pics show, the white target was the first few shots, running a snake and solvent between every shot, and I cheated and moved after one shot, then grouped, then made another single shot adjustment, because I wanted to adjust L/R and U/D on separate shots just to track how exact the movements. It was as exact as I've had. I'm no super marksman, just a Texan that loves his Football, Baseball and Protein (especially ground checked by me, ha), but this rig makes it pretty easy to drive tacks. Just one 60 round outing, but I can tell you out to 500 yard.....every shot I took was "Dead Deer" as we put it. |
