I have a problem with my predator when I use the recce 7 Griffin armament suppressor. There dimples on a primer of the second round and a lot of blowback on the casing. Almost positive this doesn't happen without the suppressor but I'll check for sure this weekend.

Pretty typical xtran case if you ask me. Primer I can't tell, on my phone it looks like a light primer strike, what ammo?

Pmc but its the round after. The one that gets chambered after the first shot. No failure to Fire or failure to extract. I've only tested it twice once on the suppressor setting once on standard.

I've shot a suppressed weapon exactly one time, so I don't know what I don't know about the same...

But faint markings of a firing pin strike and some blow back into the upper would not be unexpected to me.

I would break down the BCG, check for excess lube but I think it's fine.

The marking on the primer is there because the firing pin is free floating within the bolt carrier.  When the BCG goes forward and stops when it goes into battery, the firing pin continues a little forward motion and will lightly mark the primer.  This is why harder primers are recommended when reloading for the AR-15 platform, to prevent "slam-fires" when the bolt goes forward on the next live round.  If you load a round and then extract it, you will still see some light marking of some sort.  I have no answer as to the gas marking on the casing you are referencing.

Cheers!

How do you store your rifle?  Muzzle down or up?

Gas on the case is the Xtran chamber, kind of like the old HKs that did the same.  Agree with what was also said about the free-floating firing pin and requirement for hard primers.

Thanks for all the responses. Just noticed the demples with the suppressor, but I suspect it has something to do with buffer weights or the Spring. I may try the jp bolt.

Normal for my Larue Stealth.

All (well, at least most) AR's will dimple the primer when chambering a round.  I find it somewhat disconcerting but it is what it is.

Normal.

So is the blackening of the case.
