Getting ready to place an order before Cyber Monday ends.

What parts do I need.....

Going to order the Larue extension and .......What spring and buffer?????

The reason I'm confused is the buffer in it now is shorter than a standard A2 buffer and the spring is different. It is not a carbine buffer or an A2 buffer....

Can I use the 7.62 conversion kit and leave out the spacer?????

Did you use the 7.62 tube or 5.56 tube?

762 one
Don't think the spring would fit the 556 tube? Never tried

Did some research. Just want to make sure I get this right.

AR308 rifle buffer and spring are different that AR15 rifle buffer and spring.

Armalite AR10 carbine extensions are different length than AR15 ones. But use the standard carbine buffer???

Would the 7.62 extension and the 7.62 conversion kit would get it done???

OR...

Slashes Heavy AR10 buffer and 5.56 extension???

Might just leave the PRS on it....

On all my conversions, I run an AR10 carbine buffer tube, AR10 spring and a standard H3 buffer. I always pick them up at DSG Arms. On the last one, I got a little fancier and used the VLTOR A5 buffer tube (same length as an AR10 tube). If you are using a longer stock, like the STR, you can run a 7 position. With a short stock, like the CTR, get an A5 6 position.

If you run a 6 position with a shorter stock (CTR, MOE, Rat, etc) you will have a small gap between the front of the stock and the castle nut. This is fine. On the 7 position with a longer stock (STR, ACR, etc) there will be no gap.

When I converted my OBR from a rifle stock to a carbine stock, I used the LT 7.62 extension and a Spike's T2 carbine buffer.  I can't remember which spring I am using.

Ok, so I think this answers a question I was going to call LT about. So, the 7.62 extension is longer (than the 5.56) therefore is accepts standard buffers (as opposed to needing a slash buffer)? If I get that OBR I've been wanting I'll go that route to keep it all LT. Is it a 6 position buffer tube? Not a lot of detail on the website. Also, I assume that left you with a small gap in front of the stock when it's fully collapsed? Thanks in advance for answering all these questions.

It is a six position tube.  It closes to the first position, which leaves about a one inch gap between the castle nut and stock while fully collapsed.  I called LT before making the swap.  They told me to use an H2 carbine buffer.  Looking back at my old invoices, I think I used a Wolff extra power carbine spring.

Collapsed all the way:

Perfect. Sounds like it's the same length as the VLTOR A5 and an AR10 tube. Thanks for the info. I can buy with confidence now.
