When you CC a 1911 after months of carrying some poly gun.  Just feels like home, the hand fits the grip naturally as can be, all of the manipulations are easy and you don't have to search for anything, 7-9 rounds of amazing loaded, you know you could knock down anything from a stray dog interrupting a walk with your significant other to a large black bear.

Yep, it's a damn shame Mark doesn't know anything about all that

i honsetly think my M&Ps feel better to carry and have much better ergonomics but I do enjoy a nice 1911.

Yea I'm exact opposite of OP....  I much prefer my Polymer...

I will admidt, I did cheat on it a bit at the last Local Bowlin Pin shoot...    I entered the .45 class and shot a friends well worn Kimber 1911...

Did pretty good with it and would really like to add a 1911 too my collection of fine weaponry with LaRue Tactical Roll marks......

(Cough, Cough Mark Cough Cough, Hint Hint Cough Cough)

I'm sure that if/when Mark decides to sell a commercial 1911, he won't do it until he can bring something of extreme high quality to the market.

ETA:  That being said.... I hope Mark says something before I buy another Kimber

Gimme the Siete, I'm itching to buy a bolt gun and I'm afraid I'll make an impulse buy that isn't a Siete.

Or, you know, a hoodie would be cool too.

Love my 1911, well at least I do since Kimber replaced my barrel (and then had to throat it just so it would be reliable)......  Be sure to never buy any of their Kimpro Tacmags.... They are junk. If you own them, like I do, use a Wilson/Rodgers repair kit (spring and follower) on them and they will be very reliable mags. Not as good as the Wilson mags, but nevertheless very reliable mags. Much easier to load, and they will hold all 8 rounds like they were supposed to.....

If you like the grip angle of the 1911, which I do, but you like the weight and capacity of the polymer gun, get a Springfield XD. I have large hands and the grip on my 1911 is way too small so I bought an XD45 a few years later. My XD45 has the factory trigger job, but the subsequent XD's I have purchased have the Powder River Precision trigger kits in them. The kit is relatively cheap (under $100 on sale) and easy to install..... Wish I would have bought a double stack 1911 while they were legal in California
