Maybe somebody has already asked for this and if they have I'm sorry. I've caught the LaRue bug over the past few months and I'm really wanting to get something like this for my Stealth barrel.

Mark I would love a Stealth handguard but GAP compatible. I understand you probably won't sell tAR uppers and handguards by themselves so this would be the next best thing IMO.

That would be OK too. I just love the way the GAPs look on the hand guard.

IMO Lt stealth rails are perfect. I'd take those on my OBR and tOBR. LT was light years ahead of the game when the rails came out. Milled out excess material to cut weight , sides are lower profile, integrated QD socket, and mount stuff anywhere on rail. Don't have to worry about loctite and tools to change up mounting options. Add some surefire rubber for comfort. I know it's not the newest thing but it's a perfect and simple rail.

Just sayin'

It took me a while to get on board with M-lok, but it's really grown on me. I'm waiting on Mega Arms to release their Megalithic upper in M-lok this winter.(at least that's what they told me anyway) that's what I'm building with my LT Stealth barrel from the sale.

^^^^^^

Sell me on this? Just wondering what you like about it over a full picitanny rail? Thanks for any insight

I think it's mostly weight savings

Like I said earlier. I don't really care if it's mlok or not. I just want to be able to put GAP covers on it.

For me, there are a couple of things I am trying to accomplish. With regards to the rail, I like the profile, light weight and modularity. I also like that, on the Megalithic upper, the rail is continuous (the only turnoff to the Stealth rail for me). Out of everything on the market, the Megalithic seems to be closer in configuration to LT's designs as far as having as little interference on barrel harmonics with regards to stresses on the barrel nut (since the rail is part of the upper, the interface between barrel, nut, and receiver is the only contact point). I'm going to call it my poor mans OBR. Built almost exclusively with LT special sale components. my only regret is that I didn't pony up for a tOBR barrel cartridge. It's all good though. I'm buying another tOBR in .556 early next year anyways!

Seekins makes a very nice offering. I would even go as far as saying Mega copied it with their MKM and MML.

The Megalithic rail and upper receiver is one piece. The rail makes no contact with the barrel nut. The MKM and MML are different in that the rails are separate and are attached to the barrel nut. Theoretically this could affect the harmonics of the barrel. In reality it probably isn't that huge of a deal as long as those harmonics are consistent, but I get a little carried away about that kind of stuff, and I'm cool with that!

Anyway, sorry about derailing the thread with another manufacturer's product. Back to LT stuff.

I know the Megalithic is monolithic. The MKM and MML do not touch the barrel nut. The attach to the receiver just like LaRue, Seekins, Aero. The barrel nut doesn't have any contact with the rail.

Not the first time I've misspoke and surely not the last. I've been looking at Geissele's hand guards a lot for this build, and apparently I mixed up the two. The MML looks good, but I still like the idea of a true one piece design. They are supposed to be out before Christmas by my understanding (possibly another misguided statement ). Not that long to wait. After all, I did survive the tOBR wait, and a suppressor ordered in March should be getting out of jail soon!

No, they do look nice. Nothing like a LaRue but still very nice.
