I have been using slip 2000 ewl 30 in my 7.62 predatar with a good deal of success. The regular slip 2000 runs right off the chrome bcg and the gun will be completely dry with all the lube in the receiver extension within a week.

I did a little test and lubed my 'tar with the ewl 30 and let it sit for a month. Took it out and fired 100 rounds through it and it stayed nice and wet and ran great. Not a lot of rounds but nothing else I have tried would manage to keep this gun wet after that amount of time.

I lubed it up with the ewl 30 today and fired 300 rounds through the gun with no reapplication and the gun never got sluggish. It seems to stay in place a little better than the thinner stuff.

I like to know my guns are ready to go at a moments notice and with how wet this gun likes to be run that means lots of lube, and that lube needs to stay put. Please chime in with what has worked for you. Thanks.

Frog lube, and fp-10 seems to stick pretty well for me.

Larue customer service has advised me not to use frog lube.

I took my 5.56 PredatAR shooting yesterday and although I had put it in the safe properly lubed, I did check it before I left. I had to re-lube it. I just use M-Pro 7 cleaner and oil on my guns, I don't use any grease.

I intend to check my BCG before I go shooting because it seemed pretty dry to me. I'll add that cleaning that BCG when I got home was so freakin easy.

I have not found my PredatAR to favor running 'wet'. I oil it adequately and it runs perfectly.

I should try frog lube. It gives me a big snake oil vibe but I see it recommended everywhere. Anyone know why C.S. at Larue says not to use it?

I will pick up some fp-10, that is one I have never tried.

Thanks.

I think it is a bigger issue with the 7.62 guns, at least that has been my experience. I have always needed to keep my 7.62 WELL lubed for it to run, like almost dripping. If dry it won't get through a magazine without a few malfunctions.

Ah I see. That's good to know because that's next on my list. By the way I tried Frog Lube and I didn't care for it. It made all my guns smell minty fresh, which was strange. Also I have heard stories of it becoming gummy over time. That never happened to me personally.

My two LaRue's both arrived wetter than any rifle I'd ever purchased before. I took that as a hint.

I've had good luck with Wilson's Ultima Lube II.  Stays put rather nicely, but I don't have any chrome BCG's.  It does stay put nicely on the highly polished 1911 barrel ramps though.

LaRue sells a product called Machine Gunners Lube, it works pretty well and is thicker than Slip EWL.

I use both, my guns have never dried out from storage.

This right here.  I have also had good results with Fire Clean.

I second Machine Gunners lube. Run it on all the ARs, bolts, other semi autos.
FP10 for the pistols. Got every one that people have listed so far plus a lot of others in the cabinet that have only been used a few times each.

I can say lubed the MB with Fire Clean made it clean up easier after the "can" was on there.

Fire Clean in my Costa makes it feel like it's riding on bearings. I couldn't tell you the last time I applied any but it's just as slick now as it was when I last applied some. Not to mention how easy it makes cleaning the carbon off. All you literally need is a paper towel.

I used to use Frog Lube but was kinda put off on how it gummed up after it sat for a while. Before any one says I didn't follow the instructions.........I followed them to the letter. Granted, I have never had a malfunction while using it but I also never had any of my guns out in sub-freezing weather where that might actually cause some issues.

Going to give the machine gunners lube a try too. Didn't even know about that one. Thanks.

How viscous is the fire clean? Thin like clp or???

It's thin, but has a slightly "sticky" feeling to it. I'd say it would probably be about like really warm syrup.

It doesn't seem to attract dirt and lint like my Frog Lubbed guns did either.

Another Fireclean user here. I used to use frog lube but not on Larue rifles. Never had a problem with it. Fireclean is my number one though, works great since I shoot suppressed primarily.

+1 on the Fireclean. I've got about 2,500 since I last cleaned my tAR (conditioned with Fireclean) and action is as smooth as glass.

I used froglube i got a tub of it for free, it works, however in cold weather it gummed up turned into a thicker paste. once hot it turns into a liquid. I will say ive never had a rifle get messier than when i used Frog lube.
