I think this has been discussed, but I cannot master the search engine well enough to find it.
I want to replace the factory M2 flash hider on my 556 OBR with a SOCOM muzzle brake. Is there a procedure for removing the flash hider? Something like heat or chemical to loosen whatever kind fof thread locker was used by LaRue? TIA, Tommy |

Thanks for all the replies! Just to confirm, what do you use to hold the barrel while removing/replacing the muzzle device? Do you lock down the receiver and go to it? Or chuck the barrel up in a set of purpose-built jaws in a vice? Remove the handguard so you can clamp the barrel? Other?

TIA, Tommy 1st one I used a vise block, and for the second, I had my buddy hold the receiver while I torqued the wrench. |
