Has anyone gotten their fingers on one yet?  I'd love to put one in my tOBR but I also really like the black gold that came in it.  I'd love to hear some reviews, I'm sure it's gonna be great.

I'm not 100% but when I called yesterday to confirm my info in response to the ready to build email, I believe the CSR said they haven't been released yet. I was trying to hear him over the din of a 7 color web press so I couldn't hear the Gentleman real well so I'm not certain. I was hoping the new tOBR would be coming with the new trigger. I am however very happy with the Black Gold in my 762 tOBR.

negative here as well - just filed paperwork on an SBR that I am putting it in, so I suppose no huge hurry on my part.

i'm guessing they should start shipping soon though...

What kinda build are you doing for the SBR?  I'm patiently awaiting the release of the short barrel options for the tOBR.

I have four SBRs in jail right now (1 Wilson (300BLK), 1 Noveske (Johnny Rifle, 300BLK) & 2 more builds (on Noveske lowers, 5.56 & 300blk). Wish I had a LT. Lower but will play that game once I get a hold of one.

I put up a first impressions in the long thread - page 33.

TLDR - I'd swap in an MBT to replace an AR-Gold

I prefer the wider trigger (as wide as will fit in an AR from the looks)

I prefer some weight (2+ LBS) on the first stage vs 8-12oz on the AR gold

The reset on the MBT isn't the super-short-3-gun-friendly AR-Gold BUT it's far more positive.

Oh and the MBT worked with a BAD-ASS safety and doesn't have a hangup when you go from safe-to-fire.

Thanks for posting, any chance you'll be getting range time with it any time soon?
I really think I'm gonna have to put one of these in the tOBR, was just waiting to hear some reviews because I do really like the black gold.

I should be able to take it out this weekend, unless there happens to be thunder and lightning when I want to go to the range.

Probably bring it out with the AR-Gold, G-NM/DMR to compare the three.

From page 33 in the other thread ...

Ulfhednar_42,

Thanks for the well-written first impression.

ETA - And great pics.

Quoted:
UPS is on the ball this morning... trigger showed up.

First impressions:

1) Packaging is very, very well done. In fact, this is the only trigger I have that hasn't shown up in a ziploc baggie.

2) Score - My trigger is 007 - thanks for engraving the 100 'give away' triggers

3) Machining looks perfect, as does the finish. The disconnector is not held in by the trigger pin, so there is no pre-assembly or slave pin needed to hold it together.

4) Installation - I dropped it into a bare lower to get an idea how it feels, there's one or two triggers this could 'bump' and I wanted to do as few trigger swaps as possible. Using a G-trigger alignment thingy, installed very easily.

How does it feel...

Well it's a hell of a nice 2 stage. Really nice in fact.

The pull is right on the money as described 4 pounds 8.3 ounce average after 10 measured pulls. Maybe 1 or 2 oz variation, but that's on a bare lower in a rest. First stage is very smooth 2.5 pounds, where you hit a wall and another 2 pounds breaks the trigger.

Good positive reset, not as short as an AR-Gold.

I will be moving some triggers around and in the next day or two will do a bit more of a write-up and see if I can't give a comparison against a few of the triggers I have. And more importantly, go and shoot it.

Edit - this post is useless without photos...

any idea when the triggers that we ordered will go out? (i.e. not the ones in the giveaway?) - was hoping it to give it as a Christmas gift to my father and pick some up for myself after the holidays (secretly hoping to win, but since that didn't happen i'm going to pick up a couple after the holidays - and after I get through my IRS audit... sad face)....

Likely by end of year - we are in full production and want to put them in our rifles, but not before the contestants and pre-buyers have theirs in hand.

Well, technically, the old back-orders were billed as "with this or that trigger" in it.  We are wrapping up backorders and can then change the website.  Then any rifles sold will be bought per the website, with MBTs.  And yeah, if we had the winners and pre-buyers taken care of, I'd be asking rifle backorders if they want to change triggers, but not quite yet.

UPS fail! I specified a neighbor in my building to sign for it but still got info-noticed when I got home from work. I'm at the local UPS hub now waiting for the brownshirts to find my MBT in the sea of Christmas hold-for-will-call packages.

The anticipation is palpable!

Review and pics will be forthcoming.

So I'm looking at the MBT pics in the various threads and my wife looks over and says, "What's in that tin and why does it look like Texas?"  I have to admit, the trigger bow kind-of mimics the coastline.  Makes you wonder if an etch of Texas on the clear top would look good with the trigger behind it, or just cluttered.  Hmmmmmm.....

PS The evil cat photo bomb in the last tree pic is awesome!

Out with the old...

In with the new.

First impressions:

I love this trigger. The first stage take-up is short but well defined. It feels a bit less than the SSA it replaced but still enough to to give total control. (I do have a set screw installed to take up trigger pre-slack so that could be the reason the first stage feels shorter) The stop as it hits the second stage is solid, well defined and very controllable. Just a bit more squeeze and the break is nice and crisp. As with the first stage, the weight to break the trigger feels less than the SSA and when it goes, it feels like breaking a pencil lead. It's instantaneous and there is absolutely no slop or travel. It's simply squeeze and break. The broad width of the trigger feels great on my fat finger and just fits.

I can easily say that I like this trigger more than the SSA. (which I also love) I wish I had an SSA-E on hand to compare to but the MBT is going to be a tough act to follow.

Mark and company scored another win with this one.

Your pic of looking-down-into-the-top is a win.  And nice descriptor on the pencil lead breaking too.

Thanks for playing ... congrats on winning.
